I signed up for the Directv NFL Sunday Ticket offered as a service through the Sony PS3. The billing was supposed to be $84.99 for 4 months = $340.00. I entered my credit card information and the first month billed properly. On the first Sunday of the second month, I tried to watch the games and it told me my subscription was canceled because I did not have funds in my Playstation account. It said if I wanted to use a CC every month to pay I needed to set my account to "automatically renew" the CC authorization so each month if it does not see funds it will just take the funding out of my CC account. I set the account to auto renew but now it said I have to pay $113.25 for the next three months because it canceled my original subscription due to the funding issue. While this didn't make a lot of sense and I didn't agree I sucked it up and agreed to pay the $113.25 for three months. Last month my bank sent out new bank cards for whatever reason and I did not remember to update the card on my Playstation account. I received notice yesterday that my card did not go through so this morning I attempted to do that. Now it is telling me I need to pay $149 for one month because again my subscription was canceled. They provide no opportunity whatsoever to correct a billing account and continue on. At this point in the last 3 months I've paid for the NFL Sunday Ticket $84.99, $113.25, and $113.25=$311.49 for a $340 subscription. Yesterday it canceled because my CC needed to be updated with the new card my bank sent me but it wants me to pay $149. I think it is outrageous that it will not just let me update my CC and continue on. I spoke with Andrew a supervisor at PS support, he said this is the policy. It just cancels and you pay more. There is no ability to just update and re-charge at the correct rate of $113.25 final payment. If I pay the $149, I will now have paid $450+ for a $340 service. How can that be? If this is how Sony plans to sell the Directv service, I feel obligated to warn people to avoid it like the plague or they will be ripped off at some point. Now I'm missing the games today because Andrew does not feel they need to be customer friendly at all. He said there is no way to just update my CC and pay the last payment of $113.25. I would have to pay $149. I totally did not expect the call to go this way. I thought sure PS3 support would be able to correct my billing so I could just make my final payment and enjoy the games.
