I answered an ad that stated I could make like $1973.00 a month so, I phoned for an interview. It was a group presentation interview. They explained how the hourly wage was broken down and said that they would set you up with 3 presentations a day. These presentations were supposedly to people who were already interested in what you had to offer. Based on 3~2 hour presentations per day, you would make that amount of money per month. If you made a sale, you would make even more.

After the group interview, we were each interviewed independently. We were then told to call again in a few hours to find out if we had been chosen. {I now suspect that everyone who called at that later time was told to come the next morning.} There was to be 3 days of unpaid orientation.

I arrived the next day at I think 12PM. There were about 15 of us. We were there for a few hours learning about the history of the company. The next day, there were less people. We learned more about the product. The third and final day there was even fewer people. On the end of that day, we were given the 2 products and asked to set up as many appointments as we could with the people we knew so that, we could practice what we had learned. There were huge incentives for us to do as many as we could. I did a few. We were to return on Monday to practice and to then get sent with someone else to see how the job worked.

When we arrived we were informed that the first order of business was to clean up the office, {vacuum, take out garbage, etc.} After that, we sat in a room with the 3 or 4 other sales people, practicing the sales pitch. Then, we were sent into the field. My first turn~off was how many times we would be sent somewhere and there wouldn't be any such place or the people weren't home. {One place we went, the woman didn't even understand English.}

It was about my second day when I was supposed to meet one of the experienced salespeople to do a presentation. That person did not show up, {because he had quit,} so I was asked to do it by myself. They were very nice people and because of that, it went very well. I didn't make a sale but, it was okay, {at least by me because I was still supposed to get paid for my efforts.}

We were expected to follow this routine everyday, get there at 9, clean the office, practice until 12 and then MAYBE be sent into the field but, remember, they had said we would be sent out 3 times a day.

It was at my second presentation that I found out about how they were misleading the people to get us in their house. They were calling them and saying that they had won a prize and to collect their prize, they were to watch a 30 to 45 minute presentation. Therefore, they had lied to us saying that they were sending us to places where we were expected and welcomed. They were also lying to their potential customers because they knew our presentations were at least 2 hours long.
As if that all isn't bad enough, at the end, they had us call in. They had us make it look like we were just reporting in. In actuality, they would be seeing if we had sold their crap or not. If not, they would have us offer them a different deal. Then another one and another one...... We could tell if the people were going to do it or not so, it just made us look really stupid. I personally would cover the phone when I was talking to the people so they couldn't hear me profusely apologizing about having to keep offering them different deals.

That was the second and last time that I tried this. I'm surprised that the people didn't throw me out for a number of reasons. First because it was soooo long and second because it seemed like I was never going to quit offering them deals and leave.

I didn't quit. I continued to show up in the mornings to improve my technique. During the second week, thank God, {literally,} I lost my car key so, they decided I had issues and I should forget it. They never paid me one cent as I suspect happens to a lot of people.

There was this other person who tried this a week or so after me. He was fantastic at it! He was entitled to every incentive that was promised. He was supposed to get one of each item that we sold, a whole bunch of cash and a trip or two. Not to mention like $250.00 per unit sold. All he got was the equivalent of 1 commission and he sold like 15. Thankfully he has also quit and he's a great car salesman!

It was a terrible experience. I am so surprised to see that there are not more complaints about this. If you guys only knew, poor me. I jumped from this to an equally huge scam called dsmax. Now there's a company that has tons of reports on this website. Like dsmax, who's reports are spread out because of their various names to avoid legal issues, I suspect that this company probably also has a lot of complaints on here but because they go under so many different names, it's virtually impossible to have all their complaints in one place. I will say also though that the staff at this site is doing an even better job of getting the numerous aliases of these companies figured out and placed accordingly.

I guess the worst part is that I think Filter Queen has a great product and their presentation is convincing and impressive. They just need to find a new way to market it. It seems like infomercials would be more cost effective and they wouldn't get such a bad reputation based on the individual offices shady policies. They could probably even sell it for a consumer friendly price since they wouldn't have all those commissions.

Then again, if so many people are getting screwed out of their pay, I guess maybe they're just putting profits before integrity. There has to be some reason why they continue to do business the way they do!
