We were delivered broken tiles- paid in full through wire transfer. Ray Ocana agreed to refund the total amount paid but only refunded about half.

On September 13 2012, Westlake Realty Group ordered a box of 100 12x12 Stair Coping Sealed Saltillo tiles. Rustico Tile and Stone (dba South Texas Saltillo Connection LLC) did not allow purchases on credit or partial payment for the tiles so we paid in full prior to shipping through Wire Transfer. After our order shipped on September 17, we received an email instructing us to accept the delivery even if the product is damaged. The tiles were delivered to us via freight truck and arrived in a broken crate on September 27 2012. Lots of tiles were broken and chipped and unusable. We refused to sign for and accept the shipment as this is against our policy and better judgment. We cannot take responsibility for damaged products especially that were paid in full for. [continued below]....

Upon reviewing the shipment, we contacted Ray Ocana of Rustico Tile and told him the shipment was damaged and sent pictures of the busted crate with broken tiles. The shipment was returned to him and after his inspection, he determined that there was not enough legitimate damage. More than 10% of the tiles had to be damaged in order to issue us a refund or send out a new shipment.

Upon our inspection, more than 10% of the tiles were chipped, broken, damaged, and otherwise unusable to install for our project. Our Vice President Chris Marrs spoke with Ray over the phone several times to clear up the issues and refund our payment. Ray told Chris that he would honor his word to refund our payment in full. The refund check received on December 3, 2012 was for $355.06. This is about half of our original payment of $718.82. We lost a lot of time on this project waiting for Rustico to rectify the situation, and even more time trying to find replacement materials. All we would like is for Ray Ocana to honor his promise to refund us in full $718.82.

Funds Received

AUTHOR: Westlake Realty Group, Inc - (United States of America)

After months of lost time and failed efforts of communication with Ray Ocana, he did finally return the funds he said he would to us. We would not recommend doing business with Ray or Rustico Tile, and will not be using his services in the future.
