Southern Maine Towing & Auto Repair Unlawfully seizing personal property in towed vehicle pending payment of towing fees Biddeford Maine

This company towed my son's vehicle after he was severely injured in a single car accident. When we asked to be allowed access to the vehicle to obtain his personal property,including clothing and medications,  the company responded that it would only release his "keys and papers" until and unless he paid the towing fee. Maine law requires the release of all personal property, including clothing,  except business equipment tools or machinery. Despite have not legal authority to do so, the towing company has seized his property.
