My husband decided to change careers after being ill for 4 years. Not wanting to go back to the job where he got sick, he decided to become an OTR truck driver. He signed up with SRT and with only three days notice they sent him a bus ticket to travel to AR for their orientation. He did his orientation and passed everything with flying colors.

They sent him out with a trainer, since he had not had much driving experience but graduated from an accredited Truck Driving School. He has all his endorsements, doubles, triples, tanker and Hazmat. He was fine with the training, because he wanted to get started on the right foot.He was supposed to be out for 6 weeks that turned into three months.

There were so many mechanical issues with the trainer's truck. Each time it went in for repairs, they would get it back and be lucky ifthey made it 10 miles without haveing to be towed back to a repair shop. That went on until finally after the trainer's b*&^% and nagging they sent my husband and the trainer a bus ticket to get back to AR from Kansas to get another truck.

The rest of the training went well, but instead of 6 weeks to home time it was over three months! All of January he had been asking for the website to get his payroll information and they kept giving him inaccurate information.

They do not mail out pay stubs! Your pay goes on their Comdata Card..Mixing business with personal pay? It took until February 2013 to get the correct website so I could go on and get his stubs. By the time I was able to set it up, we weren't able to go back and get Jan.

He had taken one payroll advance when he was first there, since it would be at least two weeks to getting paid. To date they have a total of over $900.00 in personal advances and when he calls payroll, they are rude and demeaning. I believe that is to through you off so much that you do not ask again!

Since Jan 2013 he has been asking for his Pre pass and EZ pass and each time, they have excuses, "we have none, we are all out, they are being stolen by drivers, we have them on order!" 7 months he has been asking, to no avail!

He went through "ONE" toll, he did not have exact change which it required and right away he let his dispatcher know who told him, don;t worry about it!

Oh yeah well they have taken out to date $280.00 from his pay. It started with 2 increments of $60.00 and it kept going . This last pay another $40.00. When he questioned the woman who he was supposed to speak with in payroll, she belittled him, telling him that if he knows that he does not have the pre pass then he should avoid the toll roads and there is nothing they are going to do.

He was on his home time when he made that call. I sat there steaming at the way she spoke to him. As if he was no one! He called for her today again to ask what is this latest $40.00 fine about, she was not there and was told to call back on Monday.

Back in May he received a summons for Jury Duty and the clerk at the court told him that since he just started working, if it will create a hardship for him finacially, he could request a letter from the job stating that fact.

He requested the letter, after providing proof to SRT if the summons. I know that to be FACT because I am the one who faxed it in to them. He waited for days to get the letter, which he was clear about the date to appear, was approaching, so he needed the letter, and since it was taking so long could they just fax it? "No, we have to mail it!" The letter comes and I read it and literally hit the floor!

The letter was supposed to be about my husband's hardship, instead the letter was all about Mr Decker's Hardship if my husband could not do his job! I faxed it in to the clerk at the Court. When I called to make sure she received the fax she was laughing. "are they serious?" she asked me. I said "yes, they are!" She told us, the letter is supposed to be about your hardship, not theirs!

So she said she could give him until July to get it together. I told himjust do it and get it over with. They kept calling him about coming back out to work. He told them, the letter you all sent served as a harship for the company and tehy had no interestin that. So I have to appear.

They do not get you home on time, they do not care about the driver or their families, they do not care if their drivers are exhausted, they do not care if you are out of hours, as long as there job gets done, after all it isn't their driving record that gets affected!!

He picked up a load and he informed his dispatcher that it was overweight. They told him to sit tight. He was later informed that the CAT scales give you a 300LB lee-way, so don't worry about it. He was worrying because if it he had to get weighed and he was deemed overweight, he would be ticketed and that would be on his record!

On his Qualcomm , he recieved a message that several dispatchers were spoken to and they all agreed that it was fine...laughing out loud! What? What does LOL have to do with being a professional? What does that have to do with being a dispatcher or a driver and a load that is overweight?

They continue to try to get their drivers to do the impossible! Several weeks ago he was in Northern CA and was sent to SoCal..When he arrived in SoCal to pick up a trailer, they messaged him telling him they needed him back in Tulare in 1hr and 40 mins. He responded, I was right there earlier this morning ,since that is a 4 hr + drive and this is an 18 wheeler, not a magic carpet, that isn't happening!

My husband works hard, he has since he was 16 years old! It is heartbreaking to see what this company is doing to him and other drivers unless you kiss there *****! They falsify information on your record, they pull stunts, they give their word and lie about it! They are heartless and until someone does somethingbaout them they are going to continue to do and get away with what they do!

If you tell them you need to get home because you decided to leave the company, they out safety holds on you, so you cannot drive. They put abandonment charges on your DAC. They literally hold their drivers hostage. When you become a driver for them, you work to pay them, with all their theivery and coniving, making Mr Decker even richer than he already is. They claim to be a "Christian" company along with their sister Comapny Covenant..RUN! Don't walk..as far away from them as possible!

The drivers who have "good" things to say about SRT are the ones who kiss up and brown nose to get their way.

There are not many out there that are much better, these companies have been running the same way for eons, and there is not much in the way of labor laws to protect a driver. If anything, all of the laws are written to benefit the companies.

I don't know what he did before this, but he needs to go back to it, that is 39 years speaking.

So up to this point and considering all the "deductions" thus far,we have no clue to what "deductions" were taken out for Jan.
