 I planned my 30 day visit to sovereign health in August of 2015 which was to consist of a 7 day detox and the remainder of the month in a specialized rehabilitation setting. I packed my things which consisted of paperwork, a MacBook Pro, my iPad Air and a mobile hot spot from my phone carrier in order to surely be able to connect to the Internet. upon arriving to this facility I was made to sleep in a vomit stained makeshift bed (on the floor) that obviously belonged to someone else who had left abruptly. I awoke the next morning (after roughly 3 hours of awful sleep and a wrenched back) to the most horrific withdrawal pain of my life. I was denied the regular anxiety medication that I was already prescribed to take with no explanation and was ushered into a vehicle to be taken to the main office to fill out paperwork. once at the office I collapsed on the floor and my blood pressure went through the roof. they refused to call 911 and helped me up only to set me in a chair and set a paper cup with water in it on my lap. they told me to pep up as I seeated profusely (due to not being given my regular anxiety medication) they proceeded to attempt to take my cell phone and my electronics away which I had brought due to the fact that I had work that needed to be done throughout the month. after refusing to give up my cell phone I was told I would then have to leave and was shown the door. I was denied my belongings and almost 5 months later I am still trying to get my belongings back which I am being told have now been lost and have never never been acknowledged to have been on the premises despite my proof (emails and texts from staff stating they did in fact have my belongings and would hold onto them until I was out of the hospital and could return to get them) I have been given the run around and even showed up twice after being told my bags would be in the waiting room of the facility just to show up and be told that they were nowhere to be found. I'm currently looking for legal help to try and either get my bags back or be reimbursed for the contents of which I have already filled out and filed a missing items report to sovhealth. the consumer affairs manager told me good luck and has stopped responding to all of my (professional, always with tact and manners) emails and I'm having trouble getting a response from this place at all in regards to my bags. not to mention the fact that they were paid by my insurance company for my whole visit of which I was not even there 24 hours. this has been an absolute nightmare and I would strongly advise anyone seeking refuge with sovhealth to think it over and strongly encourage you to exhaust all other options first.
