They will rip you off until you go for the stick!

Always amazed at how some people will go to any length to rip you off a little more along the road. Last example: http://www.intirium.com/ INTIRIUM Theyre very politely (with the best British hypocrisy) manage to inflate what you pay by 40%. At first I was like, oh well, dont waste time. But until you hammer them hard and threaten, a new charge comes in every day.

Bottom line: if you want that fancy Italian furniture in NY, just buy it here, pay just 10% more (or even less if I hadnt negotiated!) and just get it delivered. My evil ex (Psycho Chardot) forced me not only to buy these, but of course had me deal with that. Trust me: peace of mind has a high value. NEVER buy slightly cheaper if that means hassle. If you cant afford it, just buy something else from a source that you know means NO HASSLE. Last email in a chain of more than 100 (!) : Look Ive seen costs inflate from beginning to end, for a good 40%, and at some point you have to stop taking people for retards:

 - oh, its a lot more in shipping bc this or that, its fragile (surprise) - oh, its avail 3 months later than we said  - oh, we thought it was delivered!  - oh, we had no idea bout COI in New York (which is certainly the 1st time youre delivering here right?) - what a dreadful shame, its now $550 extra to take it upstairs.

AND : all of this is your customers fault.  Or is that your fist delivery of Italian furniture to NYC (which I thought was your business)??

Following our rebuttal, we were directed to the following website which copied the complaint against Intirium. As this site is public, we see no further need to protect the identity of the writer.
http://fabriceleparc.tumblr.com/

We have meanwhile been informed that Mr. Le Parc has been called in or even arrested by law enforcement on matters like identity theft, check forgery and theft.
We have no way to double check this information other than it emanates from a reliable source.
As far as we are concerned, we believe that we have rendered ample proof that we are faced with an individual who makes up his own stories and creates his own reality which has no relationship with facts.

Rebuttal on complaint of March 22

AUTHOR: Marcel Wikler - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Saturday, March 31, 2012

We refer to the review placed on 22 March 2012

It should be noted that the review was posted anonymously which, in itself, should cast doubt on its reliability.

However, Intirium is aware of the identity of the author and can attest to the fact that each and every statement is a complete fabrication. Intirium has delivered the consignment according to its contractual obligations and, at no time, did the price increase over and beyond what was agreed upon which reflected a discount of over 40% off the local retail price in New York. Intiriums Order Confirmation, nor its website contain any hidden small print. We pride ourselves on complete transparency.  Actually, Intirium subsidised the freight when it was decided to change the shipping method since it would protect the goods in a better way.

It appears that the furniture, originally, was meant for the home of the writer which, at the time, he shared with his then-partner whom he now refers to as psycho. The mere use of this terminology, together with his general comment about British hypocrisy, kind of characterises the individual we deal with. Writer blames everyone on his path his ex-partner and Intirium, without acknowledging that he may have been at fault. We are genuinely sorry for his personal grief and we have tried to assist him, despite his frequent change of mind but he has made it impossible to finally execute his demands.

Writer requested Intirium for additional service over and beyond the contract. He wanted the furniture to be delivered inside his apartment rather than the agreed upon curb side delivery. Intirium can provide such service but, logically, requires detailed information regarding access to an apartment. This is clearly set out in the Order Form.

Unfortunately, such essential information was not given. Quite the contrary  writer provided the wrong information without setting out the rules and regulations that apply to his specific Condo. Three attempts were made to deliver. In each case a new problem occurred, whether it had to do with a required insurance certificate, the size of the elevator or the non-availability of storage space.  Intirium even settled storage costs for writer as, at first, he did not even react to our request to deliver upon arrival of the goods in New York.

Whilst 100 emails seem a bit overcharged, indeed, (too) many emails went back-and-forth and the tone and tenor of writers emails became increasingly erratic, insulting and illogical, just short of deranged. Again: he was asking for additional service and we tried to help though, contractually, we were not obliged to do so. Indeed, we remained polite as we did not wish to steep to his level of communication.

The author has meanwhile been put on notice for libel and has been given the opportunity to correct his statements.

Failing this, Intirium may take appropriate legal action and may publish the full exchange between the author and Intirium
on the web in order that our customers may judge for themselves.

Intirium takes great pride in its reputation for excellent, reliable service. Regrettably, very occasionally, we encounter a customer who, for reasons best known to him / herself, without any justification, acts irresponsibly but since this happens extremely rarely, we can easily pinpoint the identity of the author of this malicious and libellous entry.

Secretary
