I had bee considering a purchase of a Versace Watch on overstock.com and when I was ready to place the order, after having tracked this piece for several weeks, I noticed they Raised the price $300.00 or about 50% overnight. So I emailed cutomer service saying that i was willing to purchase this piece at the origional $664.00 and not the new $995.00 as per their "price protection" guaranty. NOPE no response from the via email so I called their customer service toll free, I was offered a $15.00 credit, hardly the $300.00 their price protection promised.

I call the executive offices asked for their legal dept. and got a voicemail so I left a message. 8 hours later a man called back and indentified himself as a "supervisor" he said that they (overstock) can raise and lower prices as they want and there is nothing unfair and deceptive about that. Furthermore they do not have to honer any guaranty. He the told me to pursue any avenue I saw fit and hung up! (great customer service huh?)

I sent and email to their public relations and investor (they are publicly traded) telling them I plan to pusue within' my legal rights and expose these shady practices. After that I got a response from Valerie Mawson saying what a great company they are and how of course they would have honered their guranty.

She looked at the piece I wanted and said she would get it to me for the $664.00 origional price. I said that seeing as I was lied to insulted and hung up on I wanted some consideration for this and $664.00 was not exactly an apology price. She said $600.00 right there a second later(unbeliveable, after saying how much they were losing by selling it for $664.00 they drop another 10% like nothing. I said I wanted her to look into getting me a better price for my trouble and she said she would look into it and email me her address for future communications. That very day after months ( i look at his site daily) the whole page of Versace watches was removed) it to date has not been put back. Tonight I got an email saying I misunderstood the conversation and was supposed to email Valerie Mawson the catalogue number. Difficult to do seeing as the page was taken down!

Now after our last conversation which I told her that the watch was a Versace black strap chronograph and unmistakeable as it was the only one. now MS. Mawson says the 5 days are over and they no longer have to honer my price protection. I was waiting for a response with a better price as promised and got a catty email instead saying although i cant get you the watch anymore "let me know if I can help with anything else"
