I rec'd a letter from Spectrum Foundation stating that I had won some money in the Irish Lottery held in Dublin. Since I had entered such a lottery some years earlier I read on. The letter included a check for $2980.68 which was drawn on a legitimate escrow house I was able to find on line and track the check.

I was given a number to call a Jerry Adams at Excel Financiers at 2457 Cottonwood Dr. Suite 704 SK. He told me to deposit the check and call him when the funds had become available. My bank released the funds in two days.

I called him back and he was not available and the gentleman on the phone was not easy to understand and he transferred me to a Michael Howe at a North American Pay Center. He told me that I had to money gram $2820.00 to a Kimberly Howffman of 1750 Ottawa Blvd in Canada, postal code K35S2I7.

Then call him back which I did, he asked the receipt number of the money gram, and I gave it to him, he verified the payment and told me that I would need two forms of id, proof of residence, and my winners certificate,(the letter) and the money gram receipt to show the fed ex driver when my check arrived. I called him several times that evening to verify that I would get a delivery on Friday as I would have to take the day off from work.

He assured me the delivery would be some time before 6 pm the next day. And in the packet with the check would be tax exempt documentation that I would need to fillout and complete before depositing the check to avoid the IRS taking 40%. Michael Howe told me several times to make sure I completed this paperwork before depositing the check during the many calls that day.

I called Friday three times to get a tracking number for my delivery and a answering machine was all I got, I left three messages and then realised something was amiss. I will notify my bank and the local authorities on Monday.

I will assist anyone who prosecutes as this came at a very bad time for me and it has put me deeper in debt than I already am with no h*e of getting out. Suicide is now a serious consideration for me.

You should have known that ALL of these advance-fee situations, ESPECIALLY ONES THAT REQUEST YOU TO WIRE MONEY, are SCAMS!!! Legitimate contests do not require you to send money to THEM first.

That being said, many people have fallen for these scams. Suicide is never the answer. Please get help for your depressed feelings and chalk this up to a lesson learned.
