Speedy Smog of La Mesa Barry Mark Roth, Mark Barry Roth, Barry Roth Worst Smog Place Ever - Rude and crude, they failed me while I passed at another location La Mesa California

I went to this place to get my mini-van smogged that has never failed before. While awaiting to get the smog service, I waited inside the office and could not believe what I was hearing as the Barry guy, a bloated sack of dung, insulted another customer who was getting her vehicle inspected. He told her that she was a "stupid woman" and could not understand the problem with her car even if he explained it to a child. I drove my mini-van for over five years since new and have never had it fail smog.

Apperantly, it did at this guys place. I asked him to re-test it after giving him $65 for the test and he told me that I needed to return later because he would test for free but there were other people after me that day. Even though when I overheard him talking to that poor customer earlier was an indicative of the kind of person I was going to deal with, I should have left, nevertheless, I did return since I paid the money and was told it would not be refunded.

I returned in a few days and waited for over three hours to get a smog re-test, it failed again and I was really upset, so I asked Barry of what I should repair, and he told me that I should just buy a new vehicle. I asked if he was joking and he said that my junk of a mini-van will never pass smog. I bought it new and it was less than six years old, how could that be. He told me that if I wanted to pass, he could do it under the table like for $400. I just couldn't believe it, so I left distraught and really hurt by his comments. 

The following week, I went to a smog place closer to my house and waited for less than 10 minutes, paid $55 and passed the smog on the first try. The Juan fellow that was doing the testing was very polite and I felt comfortable enough to tell him what happened before at the speedy smog place on El Cajon Blvd. 

After hearing my story, he explained to me the reason why I may have failed earlier and that what the Barry was saying was a ploy to steal money from someone who is not knowledgable on smog and automotive stuff altogether. So the reason is number one that Barry figured me to be a single mom, which I am, tricking me into possibly paying him more money than necessary for a false smog test. In reality, my mini-van was working well and didn't need special anythjing to pass. It needed to be ran before the test and was probably not hot enough to appear that it has been running for awhile for the test to assess the smog output properly. basically he made me stay there a long time on purpose to fail so he could scam me for more money.

I bet this is what he did with the customer he insulted earlier and she was just trying to understand what was going on. He was very rude to her and to me and I would never recommend anyone go there. I tried to file a complaint with BBB and the Bureau of Automotive Affairs, but he is not a member of the BBB and they referred me to the BAR. The filing process is complicated and I just didn't have the energy or time to go through with it, thank goodness for "The Rip-Off Report" otherwise where else can someone make a complaint so others just know about this devil at speedy smog at 7482 El Cajon Blvd. Be careful!!!
