I am writing regarding Spirit Airlines that is based out of Miramar, Florida. I am very disappointed and appalled with the customer service of this airline. I made reservations on Spirit Airlines for a family vacation to Florida later this year. That was my first mistake. When you go to their website it states that if you apply for a Spirit credit card that you will receive a $40.00 credit towards the flight that you are booking. This is not true; you never do receive the credit. I called customer service at Spirit and after being put on hold for 20 minutes I was told that I had to contact the credit card company for the credit. I called the credit card company they in turn tell me that it is Spirits responsibility. I called Spirit back and they said no it's the credit card company's responsibility. Needless to say I never did receive my $40.00 credit for applying online. After booking my flight I then realize that Spirit charges you $10.00 per piece of checked luggage at each airport, which would have been $80.00 for our round trip flight. But, if you prepay on line it would only be $40.00. So needless to say I prepaid. My second mistake!!!! Spirit charged my credit card $40.00 twice, for a total of $80.00. I have been trying since my original reservation on July 31 to get my credit card credited by Spirit and the other problems resolved without any luck. I have talked to several Spirit representatives after being on hold for 20-30 minutes and still nothing has been done. I emailed my complaint to Spirit on August 6 and just today August 13 I received an email back from Carlos Martinez at Spirit. It stated that I needed to contact the credit card company about the $40.00 credit towards the airfare not Spirit. But yet the person I received the email from never addressed the issue of my credit card being double charged by Spirit. I cannot believe how this company treats customers. I will never fly Spirit again. We always fly on Southwest Airlines but since Spirit was running a special we decided to try them. That was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. We will never fly on Spirit again! I regret dearly that I did not book our flights on Southwest! We have never once had a single problem or complaint with Southwest airlines. For any future flights I will be contacting Southwest Airlines not Spirit. The following is a list of people that I have spoken to without any satisfaction.

5. 8-31-07 emailed Carlos Martinez (again) no response as of today
9-4-07.
6. 8-31-07 Spoke to Joey in the Philippines of all places. He said he would send an email to accounting to have my money refunded. As of today 9-4-07 I have not from anyone at Spirit. Still hopeful!!!

7. 9-4-07 I emailed Spirit again and received the same automated reply as always. No live person yet!!!!

I still have not received my credit for the extra $40.00 that spirit charged me for my baggage or the $40.00 voucher for applying for the spirit credit card. Is there anyway possible that spirit can just cancel my reservations,
refund my purchase price of $475.00 to my credit card without any charges and just be done with this matter. I cannot believe that spirit treats it's customers in this manner. This was supposed to be a nice family vacation for my daughter before she goes off to college and it has ended up being a
nightmare. Please respond promptly. Patty -----
