spirit finacial after i refused to agree to the modification i recieved a threating email Internet

I spoke with lamont from spirit financial yesterday ,First thing that got me thinking something was wrong was when he actually talked to me ,when everyone else I talked to could not give me any info about the loan because only my husbands name is on it ,but lamont was like you guys are married that makes you one.I was told that they would be able to get my mortgage modified and if for some reason he couldn't than I would get a refund .I would have to pay $995 but i could pay it in 3 payments .I was thinking thats really good ,cheaper than anyone else I found  and a refund if they were unable to get it done,thats awsome  ,so he told me he was going to call me back tomorrow ,talk it over with my husband and he will let me know if he quilifies.

I started looking up the website spirit financial complaints,I found this website saying they are a rip-off .Great I was really hoping they would be able to help.so when he call the next day  I told him I still have to talk to my husband ,he said he was able to get it lowered to $865 a month ,that $600 cheaper but I had to pay $400 to him within 7-10 days.after seeing the report made me think I better look in to this .I started calling around and was told that is it is a scam they want the money upfront and they will tell you this is your only chance .Well whenI talked to him last time he did mention he needed to know today because there is only a limited number of spots and he would only be there until 3pm .

When he called back I told him we were not interested right now .He wanted to know why I told him what I had found out that we shouldnt have to pay right now,work on this for 3 months with out payment and than I get it modified and you never pay me.I said once again were not interested I dont have$400 just to give ,its christmas time and there are to many scams out there .I told him that I found this report about the company and its a rip-off he still would not take no for a answer . finally I hung up on him n he called me right back .Than a few minutes later I recieved a email saying they canceled my modification and that I would not be eligable to modify for 12 months inless there was a mistake on my part n I want to cancel the cancellation.That made me mad so I called my mortgage company and she said they can not cancel it and if I never signed papers it was never started .they are just trying to scare me .(if it sounds to good to be true proable is)thank you for the other  2 articles against this company I was ready to give them my money.
