NYS is suppose to check kids birth certificates if of high school age. Well they do not. I went into register a friend of my son's who is 14 years old which can easily be 14 in the 9th grade as this is what my son is going to be as well. When I registered this kid they only asked for his birth certificates and not once but twice as I registered another kid who is also 14 years old.

When I walked into NYS office there were kids weighing themselves which is unlimited weight for football, but these kids did not look like they were in Jr high, these kids looked like they were in HS. These kids were weighing over 300 lbs and playing against kids that are 130 lbs. I have kids in high school and know what kids in jr high look like.

I would not recommend you to register with NYS as the only importance to the owner is money. He doesn't care about our kids. He is all about making the money.  I know of a better league that takes care of their kids and does check documents along with ages legally.

Hello and thank you for sharing your concerns. Please allow me to explain and set the record straight. First the person who wrote this report also wrote in a complaint to our league and the Better Business Bureau. I know of this person and her account is inaccurate. The simpe reason this person was not asked to show a grade report for our Junior High Division was they were a returning customer whose child had also played in the Fall (if you notice the report was filed in the Spring). Our league age and league grade is determined as of Sept. 1st each year. Once you register, we check all these items and you will not need to show these items again until the following Sept. 1st date. If a child is in the 8th grade on Sept. 1st that means he is still in the 8th grade the following Spring.

Second, this parent has also continued to sign up her child season after season since this complaint. If an organization was so bad and they had a better league wouldn't they sign up for that league? The issue with her complaint is that the team she was on (and her husband coached) was losing week after week. NYS has other options for inexperienced players and parents who wish to have their children compete in a weight restricted league. This parent CHOSE to sign up in our competitive non weighted league. WE do not discriminate or judge a child whether he is big, small, color or skill level.

Third, this parent plays on a team (that her husband coaches), and by their request, we allow numerous players on their team to play with discounted fees. We reduce our fees for players on this team more than we do for any other team in our league yet they say "the owner is all about the money"??

Thanks for the time you took to read this repy. If ayone has any questions about our league I welcome you to stop by our office or call us at 480-539-8989
