I had the nextel wireless service untill about late october 2007. i had moved from riverhead long island to rocky point and then they came out with this hybrid phone it works on the sprint calling network but the nextel walketalke. i got the phone outright because i DID NOT WANT TO EXTEND MY CONTRACT. so i tryed to carry my old number over i had it for several years. then come to find out that i may have to change my plan thankfully i did not, then i was told it would take about 15 min for my new phone to work, about 7 days later it still would not work every time i made a call it repeted WELCOME TO AMERICAN ROAMING DOT COM YOUR PHONE IS NOT REGISTERED IN THIS CALLING AREA, i called several times in the week geting credit ajustments on the account and such.

the thing is when i got a cellpone i got it so i can make call when i neet to not for it to work 3 hours here and 5 there! the man told me it is a problem with the network the other told me it was the phone i finaly said put my old phone back on the account. because i needed my phone. it is a work phone i use it to get in contact with my workers. 7 days without a phone was not good. then the man said i cant dot that but he said that the would actavate a new line cancel the pther one and wave the early termanation fee. i said ok i wasnt realy attached to the number any way so i did so finaly i got my phone back, but then at the end of the month my phone was shut off because i did not pay an early termantion fee and i did not pay for the rest of the plan on my old phone!!!!!! i spoke to 7 people they all told me that it was going to be handed over to a collection agency if i do not pay i told them i did not contest to this agrement. now im out of a phone and i have a bill of 318.76. im calling my lawyer and geting tis finished because he told me if they do not have proff that i agreed to this im not at fault ie.. recording or a sighned paper because any joe shmo can be on the other side of the line.

is any one having the same or close problem or close to this with a contract renweal?
