I bought a celluar phone for my girlfriend from radioshack. It was a Sprint phone and had a $60.00 dollar rebate. Well I gave it as a gift and she activated it and I sent in the rebate with her account info.and everything the rebate asked for, and we qualified with all of the terms of the rebate.

Well 3 and 4 months down the road I throw away the receipt copy I had taped on the wall because I figured I wouldnt need it. Well, 6 months down the road I am still wondering where my rebate is.

I log on to a search engine looking for info. to call about my rebate. Then I see all these reports of how sprint ripped people off and didn't pay the rebates. I tell my boss about this, and he gives me a similar story about how Sprint ripped him off on a phone rebate they claimed they never received it.

So, I find a website where you can log on to check on a rebate status. I entered in the info. is asked for and sure enough it had no record of my rebate and gave me a number to call. I called and gave the woman who answered the phone all my info. and she claimed they had never received a request for a rebate.

I gave them my girl friends cell phone number and they look up her account. (please take a moment to note that I gave her the phone as a gift on Christmas of 2002) The woman on the phone tells me that the account was opened on 2001 and she had this number transfered from another previous sprint phone. This was all a lie and the records had been falsified in order to dequalify us for the rebate. The cell phone she had before (which was the only phone she had ever owned) was her fathers, on her fathers Business's account which she had been paying him to use, and I may add was not even with Sprint, it was with Verizon Wireless and also had a completely different number. This is an example of Corporate theives and their treachery.

A clarification to this Rad Dew employee

AUTHOR: j0vian - ()

POSTED: Sunday, July 28, 2013

First to clarify I only assume the man is Rad Dew since everybody there calls him daddy and he always acts likes he owns the place. Whether or not he is the original Rad Dew hass little to do with the situaltion.

Second I have checked out more of the grocery store rad dew bbq, (cause I broke down and had to get some) There was a dat on the bottom. However there is no quality control tamper resistent seals on the product anywhere which does worry me quite a bit.

Third I am not in the food industry at all. I am in the technology industry. I also believe to you to be a family member/employee just trying to rant instead of apologize for the poor behavior of an affiliate of this poor quality establishment.

A picture is available of the man who currently runs the place into the ground and is attached to this review.

I do like Rad Dews original bbq and will continue to get it from the food lion occasionally. However everything else on their buffet is crap. No quality control what-ever. The food set there so long the rice becomes crunchy, the sauces are terrible and every thing else on the buffet is nasty. Except for the macaroni w cheese which is rather cheesy.

Regardless this report is not about their food it is about the poor excuse for a man that chooses to threaten and insult customers.

AS far as your useless insight into your Rad Dew fanily tree I could care less.

I casually look down at my phone- which is recieving no signal at the time, and reply "oh I guess not-oh well" and walk out, only to see that I get a STRONG signal as soon as I walk out Radio Shack's doors. This IS A TRICK, DONT FALL FOR IT!!!! There are things that companies can buy to block cell phone signals on there premises (this is very ILLEGAL, according to the fcc) and radio shack is selectively only allowing Sprint users to be able to use there phones there. NOW IS THAT DIRTY OR WHAT???! The sad thing is some people are probably getting duped and this will continue until enough people complain to the FCC. Is this a company you want to do business with????"

Bradley - are you serious? Do you believe there are black helicopters flying after you also? Perhaps a weapon in space that causes earthquakes? The reason you might not receive a signal inside the RadioShack is the SAME reason you might not receive a signal in a Wal-mart, Target, Circuit City or Best Buy... because you are out of reach of your provider's local tower & the signal is made weaker by the structure of the building.

NO cell company has perfect coverage... not Sprint/Nextel, not Verizon, not Cingular/ATT... none of them. Verizon & Cingular/ATT are fighting for the "largest coverage area" and Sprint is renting space on their towers... so the differences will get finer and finer. Why do associates push Sprint? Because Sprint offers a higher commission. Plain fact. BUT, a SMART associate doesn't sell the higher commission product.

If your local area is covered by more than one carrier, there is no reason that an associate should NOT offer Sprint; however, if Sprint does not have a strong signal in the area, it shouldn't be offered. It all depends upon where you plan to use the phone, primarily.

Whether you go to RadioShack, Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal-mart or even 7-11, unless you have your facts straight, you put yourself at risk of buying into the wrong carrier without doing some research first -- ask the right questions & you get the right answers. (Caveat Emperor)

Bradley Bradley Bradley, come on man, u can't be that dumb?

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 13, 2005

If you used to work in sales Bradley, then you must know its just a job, like any other place. Because RadioShack employees are trained to sell Sprint phones and Verizon phones, and be pushy about it is beccause thats what good selling is.

Now if you had a bad experience at one RadioShack or even a few thats fine, maybe you had some poorly trained employees, or some new employees that were just learning.

If someone came into the RadioShack where I used to work and asked for a Ham radio, I'd send them to the nearest truck stop. This is the 21st century Bradley, people want cell phones, however if my grandad or any of his friends came in to the store I would probably talk to them about Ham radios, fact is, poor example of what to ask to try and confuse a radioshack employee.

The meetings and the training that the company puts its employees through is very constructive and well organized, wether the person chooses to listen or not is up to them. Sprint has the second best coverage in the nation, has for the past three years, as well as the best technology in wireless phones to date, (Verizon being number one in coverage and one in customer service).

Basically, I really don't see where much of your insight is coming from. Do you honestly think you get better customer service at Best Buy. The stores five times bigger than a RadioShack, and while it does have much better products, Best Buy didn't start one on one training with employees on customer service until about a year and a half ago.

So Bradley, good luck on bringing down the RadioShack NATIONWIDE

Use Your Head People On These Rebates Through Sprint

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 12, 2005

Obviously people, when you sign up for new sprint service, or an upgrade, where you qualify for a mail in rebate, that mail in rebate is through Sprint directly. RadioShacks are simply retailers for Sprint/Verizon/Dish Network/Sirius.

Therefore we're only allowed to do what they allow us to do. If your having a problem with your rebate then you must go through the company thats offering the d@mn rebate, which in this ladies case is SPRINT, (use your head woman). Sprint telling you to go back to the store you bought if from or to contact RadioShack to get your rebate is them simply trying to get rid of you.

Read consumer reports and lemme know how good Sprints customer service is. RadioShack would love to help with problems concerning rebates, in fact Tandy Corportation has tried to get Sprint to allow us to do more with their customers and their accounts for better customer service, but nothing has happened.

I've worked for RadioShack and was a Sprint rep for years, so use your head a little better next time lady and maybe you'll have better luck with getting your "SPRINT" rebate.

RadioShack Is at fault

AUTHOR: Jose - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 01, 2005

I agree with SOME of each side of this issue. My wife and I had t-mobile service and switched to sprint. We went to a radio shack to get our phones. As far as inundating us with phone info I wouldn't know because that is what I came for. However, I went there with the intention of buying two phones. I bought my wife a camera phone for 80 dollars and I got myself the camera and video phone with that link thing. Now, the associate downright LIED to us then tried to cover it up. He said that my phone was new in a box as was my wife's. Hers was mine was not but I paid full price for it. Sadly, they would have gotten away with this but since the phone is a camera phone it had video on it from people that I had never seen. In fact, while I was buying it a guy walked up to it and picked it up! I got angry and told the man to put my d**n phone down and the salesperson to secure my phone. Now, as a result of thier dishonesty the regional manager for radio shack credited me with both of my warranties on the phones so they do make amends. For anyone buying a high priced phone at radio shack be advised that they DO NOT stock them(so they say)so make sure that your phone is new.

POSTED: Sunday, December 19, 2004

Sit Back and relax i hate radioshack but they are not going anywhere. they are a huge company (more radioshacks than burgerkings count them in your area and take a average i live in charleston,sc 11 radioshacks,8 burgerkings,12 mcdonalds,1 bestbuy,1 circut city. someone said something about them closing down no they just open a store 3 times the size of the old one in a nicer place. anyway as for the rebates walk in the store and take a look they are INSANT REBATES wow technology today isn't it great if you worrying about a $60 rebate on a $72 phone you dont need one anyway you need a wal-mart trac phone (pre-pay so you dont run up a huge bill) or just play the lottery.

signal blocking and ham radios

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 01, 2004

I have never heard of any stores that are corportatly owned doing this. It is true that sprint does not have the largest network, but for the most part they do get service in areas that other companies do not. this is basically due to the free and clear america plans using the roaming capabilities of other providers networks. you are making accusations against a company that has a proven track record in selling cellular service. we are the largest provider of cell phones in the US, we sell more phones than sprint and verizon combined. i can not even fathom the thought that a radioshack would do this, did you ever think that the uv lights that we use in all of our stores do interfere with all electronic signals, not just cell phones? try using a radio in the stores generally the reception is not that great but fair.

Now as for the ham radio issue, if you aviod the sales associates how do you know that they know nothing? i am tired of hearing customers say that we do not know anything if you would stop describing things as that connector to hook up your dvd player then maybe we could show you that we do know a thing or two. it is true that most new sales associates do not know anything about ham radio, but generally managers or senior sales associates do know something about the subject. but conversly not many people in general know anything at all about it it is a select group of individuals that fit that nitch. but as a company we sponsor many ham events. in dayton, oh they hold a ham fest yearly and we are one of the largest participants there.

Radio Shack was at fault

AUTHOR: Debra - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 25, 2004

Radio Shack has the rudest sales persons and are rip-offs. Every rebate that is sent back to them, is never paid to the consumer, they always claim that it may have been lost or stolen. I have had the joy of seeing 2 Raio Shack's go out of business in our area and I hope Best Buy finishes them off, once and for all. I always receive my rebates promptly and the customer service is wonderful at Best Buy so why would anyone ever need to go to Radio Shack.... Home of the trash computers?

Radio Shack is now more interested in selling phones than anything else!!!!

AUTHOR: Bradley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 25, 2004

Right now, Selling Sprint phone service is WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING ESLE at Radio Shack. You cannot leave a store without them hasseling you to sign up for service- even when they see a phone strapped to your waist they will still HARASS you!!!!

First of all, Sprint is not the greatest service. In fact, I have found on the net that it is rated LOWEST IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!!! Just look for yourself. I also used to enjoy spending time at Sprintsucks.com, may still be online. It seems that Sprints policy is "sell as many contracts as we can- who cares if we have the towers to cover them or not!" Which is what happened in Chicago. Just watch a tv show sometime and be bombarded by Sprints contract selling blitz commericials with the perverted looking guy in the trench coat- Who foots the bill in the end for all these commercials???

Back to Radio Shack, Oftentimes (as in almost every) the employees are way uneducated when it comes to stuff they sell, but they can start rattling off sprint pcs facts. Just go in and ask about anything, they will look all confused and you can see the strain in their faces trying to get a clue. Could this be because they are only trained to sell phones these days??? It used to be that way with dish systems, but now it seems sprint is their big daddy now. I only go to radioshack because they WERE well known for having exclusive electronic parts and supplies and gadgets that were hard to find elsewhere. But thesedays it seems that I have to go in and find my own stuff on the shelf, and try to avoid the salesman at all cost because they wont know anything about what I want (even when its in their catalog or recent salepaper) because he wont have a clue and will only mislead and try and confuse you as to what you really want and then start asking you if you "need a cell phone?" Dont believe me?, go in an ask what a ham radio is, chances are he will -s**t his pants-. The sad thing is that the name of the store is RADIOshack. They should just change it to SPRINTFONEshack.

Like I said even when you have a phone on your waist they will not shutup. They always ask who you have your service through and even when you tell them YOU ARE TOTALLY HAPPY with your existing service they will start trying to get details of your rates and start rambling off sprint facts and how many awards they have won etc, etc, etc.

Heres one NOT to fall for:
They will ask the usual- "who do you have your service through?" - Regardless of what you tell them, if its not sprint they will say "ohhh well sprint has a much better coverage area than- (your phone company goes here)- In fact alot of people dont get signals out this way, are you getting a signal in here???" I casually look down at my phone- which is recieving no signal at the time, and reply "oh I guess not-oh well" and walk out, only to see that I get a STRONG signal as soon as I walk out Radio Shack's doors. Is this a company you want to do business with????

Heres another little PLEASURE at radio shack. Going in to buy something quick, (I already know where its at- because I know WAY MORE than all there sales team combined-and could easily run their dump of a store for them) only to find that all there sales staff are busy trying to CON ppl into buying SPRINT PCS FONES. And when they dupe someone into doing it, then they start the LONG activation process which is forever while they make you wait all through their mistakes and customer questions and credit checking etc etc etc. - I just walk out because there are MANY more radioshacks in my area and they are a dime a dozen and I might get lucky enough to get in and out if I find one without any suckers to suck in it.

ITS A SAD TIME FOR RADIO SHACK, WHEN THEY ARE MORE INTERESTED IN SELLING PHONE CONTRACTS THAN THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THAT THEY HAVE BUILT THEIR REPUTATION ON AND EMPLOY MARINE RECRUITER LIKE TACTICS TO SELL YOU SOMETHING YOU DONT WANT.

Radio Shack is now more interested in selling phones than anything else!!!!

Just watch a tv show sometime and be bombarded by Sprints contract selling blitz commericials with the perverted looking guy in the trench coat- Who foots the bill in the end for all these commercials???

corporate theives

Yes indeed they are, they have issued a letter to me claiming that they have deducted my breaks because I chose to smoke during them.

I sure as heck did notice within my hiring package clear terms as to what Radioshack does for breaks. They should give me 30 minutes paid and 30 minutes unpaid for every 8 hours worked.
They do not, yet they still deducted the full 30 minutes, which they admit to.

There is nothing that provides limitation to the provision that my breaks are paid, hence I am going to sue them in court for that along with damages.

They have outright stolen from me, and they are using this as an excuse to cover up for this and the rest of the time they have stolen from me, forcing me to work off-the-clock.

I have a recording of their reprisals (manager issued one) and head office is unsure if I should be paid for every minute that I spend, according to them it's an "iffy" issue. I have a recording of that call which was made by my store's assistant manager.

Eventually I'll figure out how to file my own employee insider on a brand new report, that way I can post all of my evidence and prove to everybody that Radioshack is ran like a sweatshop, they are horribly greedy given their sucess in the market (perhaps they have to be to account for incompetant fat-cat upper-level management).

If they think they can tool me for free labour they have another thing coming, I've got them in court for one thing and I'll find other things to get them with as well.

The problem is Radio Shack

AUTHOR: D - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 15, 2003

The problem is not with Sprint, but with Radio Shack. I just went thru the same thing with the Radio Shack at Hillcrest. If you will call 1-888-900-7272, you will find very helpful Sprint reps that are only interested in helping keep you satisfied. They credited my rebate to my sprint bill after I didn't receive it in the mail.
