Hot Spot

AUTHOR: dbower - (United States of America)

This is so difficult to read with all the CAPS!

I'm no big fan of any cell phone company but Sprint does offer the best price and they are the only ones that offers unlimited plans. So, if they charge $29.99 for the Hot Spot, I think it's a deal. Actually, I signed up for it a few days ago.

If you go to a coffee shop, whether you use their Wi-Fi or not, you're paying when you buy their $5 cup of coffee!

If you don't like the price Sprint is paying, don't sign up!

Okay trying to decode what you are actually talking about it appears you are talking about "Tethering".  This is where you can attach a separate Wi-Fi device(such as a laptop) and have it use your phone as a "Hot Spot".

If this is what you are talking about then you are wrong and appear to be confusing terms.

When you go to a Coffee Shop and use their "Hot Spot", they are using a high speed internet(land line) connection not a cellular connection.   By the way they are paying for this connection they are just hoping to make up this cost in having you purchase their $5 cups of coffee.

You then try to compare this to Comcast.  Well comcast is a CABLE company and again not using Cellular technology.  If you have a router it is still going through your land line connection.

Just about every company charges extra for "tethering" using a cell phone.  Either by the way of a flat fee or by the GB's used.
