My family and I moved into a mobile home at Indian Oaks Pointe a year ago. After purchasing my trailer I went to move in and discovered a new hole in my roof. We were told it was made by Indian Oaks employees while removing tree limbs. They said they would fix it.

Three months later the hole was not repaired, not even with a temporary fix. We asked why and were told that after three months they were still waiting for materials. We gave them the benefit of the doubt. Two more months went by. Winter came and the side of the house with the hole was FREEZING. We pressed them again and got the same answer - "Waiting for materials."

By this time we were fed up, cold, and losing money because of the heating bill. I called their corporate office - SSK Communities - to complain. I was informed the person overseeing this area was out of the office but I could leave a message on his answering machine. So I did, explaining the situation and how I felt about it, plus a phone number where I could be reached to resolve the situation. I didn't get a return call nor was the hole fixed.

The next month we contacted the park manager again. This time we were told they had the materials but "park emergencies" had kept them too tied up. This was fairly plausible as we had a couple of bad winter storms. As spring approached, however, this seemed like another delay tactic. The Indian Oaks crews seemed more concerned with tearing down abandoned trailers than attending to paying customers that they had wronged over six months before.

Birds started nesting in our insulation. I approached the park manager again, this time quite angry, and was told their repair people and even she herself had come here several times but were unable to find anyone home. That is highly unlikely since my wife is a stay-at-home mom and didn't even have a working car at the time. Furthermore, when they wanted to harass us about anything they didn't seem to have any trouble finding someone home.

So I made an appointment with her and made sure my wife would be at home waiting for their repair person. He did not show up. I called to find out why he was not there and was told the park manager was out of the office. I left my number and a request for a call back. I did not receive one.

Now, a year after my family and I moved in here, the hole is still there and bigger than ever. We can't afford to hire someone and the culprits refuse to make it right, not only offering excuses but attempting to make it look like it's OUR fault they have failed to make the repair.
