I started working for Staff Management (Seaton Corp) in August 2006, after a 3 month long run around after the interview process. I was told the company promoted exclusively from within, there was a 5 year contract in place with Dell Computers, and that I would be able to promote pretty quickly. All of this turned out to be false.

In October 2006 they hired an unsolicited person directly from Monster.com, not even posting the position to allow for applications from within the company. This employee, Janet Morris, used her connections with mid-level management at Dell to circumvent the chain of command to gain her own personal office space and to avoid properly reporting contract employee information to HR and Dell Inc.

In November 2006 I was taken into an office and told my position was being eliminated, 6 months into the 5 year contract. This was a Tuesday; On Thursday that week my "Eliminated position" was posted on Monster.com; I was not contacted.

I have also been fighting since that time, exactly 2 months now to receive my final paycheck from the company, apparently Janet mis-reported my hours cutting out more than half of my final week. I was told, in order, it would be taken care of, weeks past, I should contact Payroll to find out where it is, weeks past with no answer, then it was escalated when I threatened a claim to the Department of Labor. I've been shown the reported and incorrect hours, I've objected, and yet still I sit with half the paycheck missing.

Aside from my persona issues Staff Management, via Chris, not sure of his last name, ignored Dell's requests for policies, attempting to force Staff Management's operating procedures on Dell, which I believe has caused the 5 year contract to be dwindled. This in addition to the 24 hour requirement and only having 2 employees to cover 12 hour days, 7 days per week. No lunch breaks, if an emergency occurs with one of these two the call center would be without Staff Management cover, thanks to my coverage and lay off, which is a violation of the contract; Which occured regularly in my short tenure.

I'm also a victim

Just to add to what this previous poster had mentioned, I've had problems with this company too.  Approximately 1-2 years ago, I applied for a job with one of this companies other subsidaries known as PeopleScout.  We were told that our training would last an entire week and that, at the end of training, we'd take an oral and written exam to determine whether or not we'd be able to get on the phones.  After 4 days of training, I was called up and told that I wouldn't be a good fit for this company and that I'd be compensated for the training I did do.  I waited days, weeks, months and even years, and I never received my check.

Just last week, I started training for another Seaton Corp company known as StudentScout.  It was the exact same training structure.  1 week of classes and an oral and written exam at the end to determine if we could get on the phones.  This time, I only managed to attend 3 days of training before I was given the call to inform me that I, "wasn't a good fit for what the company was looking for."  I was told for a second time that I'd be compensated for the days that I attended training.  Its been almost a week, I haven't received my check for that period either.  Something needs to be done to make this company change its policy before any more people are cheated!
