I FIRST APPLIED FOR A REWARDS CARD ON JANUARY 13TH 2007 AFTER SPENDING 1000 DOLLARS AT ONE OF THERE LOCATIONS. THEY TOLD ME MY CARD WOULD ARRIVE IN 4- 6 WEEKS AND IT NEVER ARRIVED. SO WHEN THE CARD DIDNT COME I CALLED STAPLES REWARDS TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND I HAD TO CONTINUE CALLING TILL AUGUST 2008 TO GET MY CARD. MEANWHILE I WAS STILL MAKING LARGE PURCHASES AS A REWARDS MEMBER AND THEY WOULD TAKE MY NUMBER AND TELL ME THE PURCHASES WOULD BE APPLIED TO MY REWARDS ACCOUNT.

IN JANUARY 2009 I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A PENNY IN REWARDS SO I CALLED THEM TO SEE IF THEY COULD RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT ALL MY REWARDS COUPONS HAD BEEN SENT AND WERE NOW EXPIRED. I RECIEVED NOTHING. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD RE SEND 1 COUPON, THAT WAS EXPIRED, FOR 20 DOLLARS BUT WOULD NOT SEND ME ANY OF MY RIGHTFUL REWARDS BECAUSE THEY CLAIMED I HAD ALREADY RECEIVED THEM AND THAT THEY ARE NOW EXPIRED.

I AM A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER THAT SPENDS ALOT OF MONEY AT STAPLES AND I WASNT EXPECTING SPECIAL TREATMENT I JUST WANTED WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR THE REWARDS PROGRAM FOR, MY REWARDS!!. I RECCOMEND THAT NO ONE JOIN THIS PROGRAM BECAUSE THEY HAVE HORRIBLE ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL. THERE JUST ANOTHER BIG COMPANY THAT CLEARLY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL. DONT EXPECT ANYTHING FROM STAPLES REWARDS ITS SCAM TO GET YOU TO SPEND MORE MONEY.THE WAY THERE ACTING IS LIKE THER GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. IT MAY BE SO BUT DONT SCREW YOUR CUSTOMERS.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Staples Rewards

AUTHOR: Staples - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 15, 2012

As an employee of the company, I would like to apologize on Staples behalf for any inconvenience you may have had and will do my best to respond to the main points in your complaint.

1. A physical rewards card should have been given to you the day you filled out the application. If you were never given one, any cashier can look up your account via the phone number linked to the account. You also have the option to sign up for a new account in store and making sure that you remove the physical Rewards card from the pamphlet you fill out.

2. Rewards credit is only earned for purchasing specific items in store or online and does not apply to total dollars spent. For example: Rewards members receive 10% back on all ink, toner, and paper purchases at all times.

If you purchased $1,000 worth of ink, toner, or paper, you would be eligible for $100 in Staples Rewards. If you purchased $1,000 worth of, let's say, computer equipment, there would be no rewards gained from that purchase unless there was a current Rewards promotion running for those items.

3. Rewards credit can be accessed via Staples.com. You can log in by clicking the "My Account" button at the top of the page and then select "Staples Rewards." If you've never redeemed rewards before online, you will need to create a login for your account using the phone number linked to the account and your Staples Rewards number, which can be found on the physical card or any receipt from a transaction you used your Rewards account with. This is a quick and simple process that does not take longer than a few minutes.

Staples is an environmentally-conscious company, so our Rewards credits are sent electronically to reduce waste. They will need to be printed out to redeem, or you can pull them up on your iPhone or mobile device and shown to a cashier upon checkout.

4. Staples Rewards credits do have an expiration date. If they are not used by that date, they cannot be redeemed or rolled over to the current Rewards period. My best advice would be to keep up with your rewards using your online account to stay aware of the expiration date as well as your current rewards.

Regards,
