Star Auto Body, Ulrick Washington, Ulrich Washington, James Washington Scam Artist, Lies about cost, Does Shitty Work Overall, No Attention to Detail Pantego Texas

 This guy Ulrick Washington is a real piece of work.  We used to own a successful shop beside him in Arlington/Pantego and he turned out to be a liar, a cheapskate, and has terrible customer service.  We had to move our shop to another location (and since we're growing :)) because of his terrible work ethic; He would tell ppl that after body work he would send them next door to us for mechanical (engine) repairs and he would actually get his own employees who are not mechanics and have no engine repair experience whatsoever to work on the cars. Then the customer would come back or we'd see them at car shows and they'd be mad about how their car was running. We then would have to tell the customer that "Ulrick never sent us your car like he was supposed to" and that he was taking a cheap way out to make himself more money. How dishonest! Save yourself from being ripped off and never take your vehicle to them at Star Auto Body for any work whatsoever.

I am in the process of filing a defamation lawsuit against Ulrick and Star Auto Body, since he now ran my new company through the mud (due to jealousy) and got his brother to post a bad review on us. We've never done any work for his brother so he has no right to say anything about my company. Or, this is a fictitious character review just to get at us.

We are a restoration shop and bought a 1955 Chevy Truck so we could show our work and what great things we do. We disassembled the entire truck, prepped down to metal every piece, and got it ready for paint. I'd say Star (initially) did about 15% of the work on this entire truck. The first time, his body guy repaired the dents and then they painted the truck. Of course the first day anything comes out of paint - it will look good, until the true, bad prep starts to show through. This truck has never been in the sun, we did not even have it one month and Ulrick/Star Auto Body thinned the paint out so much (for him to make money) it already had chipped and cracked around windows. We also saw how parts of the paint would bubble up (this is from not allowing coats to dry before applying the next one) and then when the bubbles pop, then begin to peel away as large areas of paint that come off the truck. This happened with the lower part of the truck, where the green is. So, when we moved to our new location we installed a paint booth, and hired an awesome body guy with over 30 years experience. For a couple months we could not show our truck at car shows since we had to repair the paint on most of the truck!! We had to fix Ulrich's bad work. We chose to never bring it back to him since I am better off not dealing with him - It was a nightmare doing business with him: I gave him cash and had to write my own receipts, He never returned phone calls or kept us updated on the truck, He let the truck sit for a long time before they actually worked on it, He tried to say I did not give him $2,000 one day and I did (after he checked his bank account, he realized he was in my face for nothing)...the list can go on and on.

So, Yes, we will definetly take full credit for building this truck because no matter how you look at it = We Did Entirely!! Frame, Wood, Bed, Bolts, Engine, Interior, Windows, Prep, Body Work, Paint (corrected) = we did most of it and that's what matters!

Oh, and his guys and him at Star Auto Body have no attention to detail: They lost a bunch of expensive bolts I bought for the truck and never paid me for them!

In Summary, Since I could write a book about this guy:

1) Poor Customer Service

2) No Attention to Details

3) Lies about pricing; He will quote you $4k for paint job but you will pay $7k

4) Has no respect for women and down-degrades them

5) Will not apologize even if he's in the wrong

6) Quality looks good at first, but to make himself more money he thins out paint and it starts chipping and bubbling

7) Needed money from me every couple of weeks, and finally, I told him until you finish my truck you are not getting any more money! At this point I already gave him $5k.

8) Takes an extremely long time for job to be complete, every customer of his says so.

9) This guy does not need to be in business at all! This is apparently his side business and it shows. He lures ppl into getting work done, then there is many issues with the outcome. He has terrible customer service skills and treats ppl like crap when the money is gone. And, he's almost never at the shop when he's needed.

Avoid "Star Auto Body" please! Research reputable companies in the area who have actual good reviews and save yourself stress and being ripped off. Also see other customer of his that posted on Rip Off Report - these ppl do not make this stuff up!
