I received a call from Star Communications and the rep proceeded to explain to me that my household was selected to win $500 shopping spree package to any where in the world and a Family Fun Pack to any amusement park. The cost of this package on my end is only $4.95 not a penny more or less. I do not have to make this payment until 5 days after I received my confirmation from his manager. He explained that I would receive my package within 7 to 10 business days. All I had to do was provide the routing numbers at the bottom of my check, don't sign it or anything and that the monies would not be required of me until this 5 day grace period. I explained to the rep, that I would not give him my information because if I had won something then I shouldn't have to pay for it. He said "Ma'am, Ma'am" all you're doing is paying for shipping and handling of your package. I told him to take it out of the 500 give and just send me the rest. He said the check was already made out and he couldn't do that.

Also what made this a fishy sales pitch is that he said his name was Henry Miller and he had a very, very strong India accent. I also mentioned this to him and he just laughed. I told him that I wasn't interested and hung up the phone, he didn't like that so he called me back and said we must have gotten disconnected. I told him no that I had hung up the phone and was not interested in the give-a-way... he said I was crazy to pass up 500.00 gift for just 4.95. I told him - you know what I just looked your company up online and found that you've SCAMMED others... He hung up the phone, when I tried to call back the number he had given me... 1-800-357-9238 no answer and then I tried the number that showed on my caller id..1-866-656-9893 and the lines are all busy at this time.

I would love for this scam to go public because I know a lot of elder people are probably being ripped off. Please let everyone know this SCAM is out there.

Thank You Rip-Off and all the other consumers that actually report their circumstances.

I'm an advocate for the truth.
