Star Communications Family Fun Pass ripoff $300 free shopping spree Canoga Park California

Along with the many others, we too have been ripped off by this fraudulent telemarketer. On the original phone call with them, my wife cancelled, and was assured that our order was cancelled. She even called back a few days later to confirm, and was assured that it was cancelled.

But almost $300 was withdrawn from our account on a bank draft. Our account was overdrawn, and we were charged stiff fees from our bank. After the bank informed us that the draft was made by Star Communications and Family Fun Pass, we informed the bank that the draft was unauthorized. They suggested we attempt to resolve the issue with Star Communicatioins.

We called Star Communications, and they told us that we did not cancell our order. Called our bank back, and they told us that we "implicitly authorized" the draft by giving out our bank information, and that this does not constitute fraud.

We have since read the editor's suggestions and will be going after our bank more aggressively. Star Communications needs to be shut down. Also anyone reading this - NEVER NEVER NEVER give out any personal information to a telemarketer. If they are legitimate, they can mail you information, and you can conduct business with them in a safer manner.
