Star Tours Travel Agent was contacted to assist a Vietnam national to obtain a tourist visa to the USA. The Vietnamese woman, Vo Thi Hong Chau, sugested the agent because of prior dealings and reliability.
After five e-mails and much heated discussion with Ms Vo Thi, I sent $500 USD to her for the visa. I received a copy of a receipt from Star Tours Travel Agent. E-mail to the US embassy has revieled that a visa application was never processed for the woman.
Further investigation shows that Star Tours is not affiliated with Viet Value Travel Agent as advertised on their letterhead. And a similar e-mail is on file at stop-scammers that shows the services that Star Tours Travel Agent provide and at what cost.
Needless to say Star Tours and the woman appear to be fakes. Beware, don't send them any money.
