My wife and I were involved in a wreck in November of 2008. It was State Farm's insured fault. It took two months for them to settle just on the vehicle after me constantly hounding them. They would not fix my truck despite the fact that it was not anywhere near their 85% mark. I got screwed and lost about 4-5,000 on the truck. I was also out of work for over two months since I used the truck for work (wrecker). My wife has had to attend physical therapy and was replaced at her job. I am now getting bills from doctors and hospitals, also having to pay co-payments and lost a contract from not having a truck. The claims adjuster has not even called me since I settled on the vehicle. The first woman I talked to was very nice and willing to help but since being turned over to the current adjuster it has been a nightmare. I would never recommend State Farm to anyone. I don't want them for my neighbor

Count yourself luck they we not YOUR insurance company

AUTHOR: Takin4aride - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 08, 2010

Count yourself lucky!! I was in a wreck 4 years ago. They were my insurance company. A guy hit me and 2 other cars while stopped at a red light. 2 other people and myself had State Farm. I called my agent right away after 911. I could see his office from the wreck. I was told to call them back when I had the accident report and they hung up. I had to get a lawyer to get my bills payed. While I was sitting in the Physical therapy waiting room to go have therapy on my shoulder, I had just had surgery on. They call them to verify insurance the lady from state farm told them "let her f#@king lawyer pay her bills and she hung up. 3 years later 2 shoulder surgery and 1 knee surgery, 3 years of physical therapy and a refinanced house at ungodly rates to we didn't lose it. We finally settled out of court. 2 years after that I still don't have full use of my arm my knee still hurts and they got off easy. I barley covered my medical bills and cannot refinance my house because I lost my job!

I guess they are getting sued

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 26, 2010

I have tried numerous times to reach an agreement with State Farm and it is now going on almost 2 years. Despite my advising the agent that I would have to file suit he still doesn't care. I guess he doesn't care if it cost them more because they get sued.

Did you inform your insurance company about the wreck asap??
That is the proper protocol - Never deal with the other persons insurance - let your insurance company do that - that is what you pay them for

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Try filing through your own insurance company

AUTHOR: Dee - (U.S.A.)

If I am not mistaken, you have the option to file the claim through your own insurance company... I would check with them or see what they suggest. Best of luck to you !
