I have had insurance with state farm for over 3 years and with the exception of having to have my battery jumped about 4 or five times in those almost 4 years. I have no tickets and have never filed a claim. In January of this year I was slowly reversing out of a parking space at a gas station when I slightly bumped a car that was parked outside of the marked bays in the road and was obstructed from my view by the large car parked right beside me. I insisted on having the police there to have a record of the incident and the damages which were very minimun. The car I hit which was in my opinion illegally parked had a small scratch on his bumper and he claimed that his bumper was a little loose, I could not see where it was. I was not pleased because this young man chose to leave his car in an unauthorized spot just to run into the gas station when there were other spots empty. I contacted my insurance company on the advice of my Agent's office who advised me to report it not as a claim but as a reported incident.

About a week after this I received a call from the claims department at state farm informing me that a claim had been filed by the other driver that day or the day before stating that this incident had just happened the day before and that they had determined that I was at fault for "Recklessly reversing without looking" I was shocked and really upset that they would label me as reckless and ignore my description of what had happened. I asked them exactly who they were representing because it surely wasn't me. This gentleman not only gave a different date, but gave a different name and a different insurance company. He in all likelyhood did not even have insurance. state farm also published this on my file as 2 claims one no-fault and one fault which I discovered after I tried to switch insurance companies because I was discusted with the way the had handled this claim. When I called my agent I talked to her mother who works for her and this lady whom I had spoken to many times and we were always pleasant with each other was rude and dismissive and my agent had the same attitude when I spoke with her directly. I have tried to change insurance companies since then but it appears that state farm has black-balled me. Also I did not know that if you pay thousands of dollars for years for insurance and if you need just a jump start which you pay extra for with roadside assistance they will penalize you for that as if you had a wreck or a bunch of tickets. I literally was denied insurance or quoted an obscene amount because I needed to have my car battery jumped.

Now the final ripoff, I received a letter from state farm a few days ago stating they would not be renewing my insurance on my renewal date in May!!! The reason they claim it is because I filed for a towing claim in 2013, REALLY! 3 years ago, also I have no idea what they are talking about since my car has never been towed but I suspect they know that they screwed up my only claim so bad and are now trying to sever all ties with me, especailly after paying the other driver over $800.00 for a scratch and not taking into consideration that he lied to them about several facts of this accident. Also I was never informed that they had paid out on this claim in fact when I tried to switch to Allstate they informed me that there was no payout. I totally understand why people break the law and drive without to insurance the insurance companies have been given  license to steal from consumers and we have no rights where they are concerned. 

Criminals are not born...they are bred by an unfair and one sided system that protects the business not the consumer.

So since they have made it impossible for a person like me who has never had a moving violation, not even a parking ticket, and has only had one minor accident in my entire 35 years of driving to obtain insurance I guess I have no choice but to go without insurance.
