Years ago I had Statewide Remodeling enclose a back porche at my home in Georgetown.  I had to call them back a couple of times to fix a few things, but ultimately the deficiencies were fixed to my satisfaction.  A few months ago I got a "cold" call from the compnay wanting to come out and perform an annual inspection.  I was told that they would also replace all my screens at no cost to me, but anything else they might find I would have to pay for.  I told them I would pass and thanked them for their concern.

Today I called them back and told them that I decided I would like to have that inspection and would like to have my screens replaced.  Whoever answered the phone didn't seem to know what I was talking about.  I explained the call they made to me a few months ago and decided today to have the inspection.  She wanted to know specifically what was wrong with my screens.  I told her I didn't know and I thought that was what the inspection would determine.  She said that she needs to have something to write on the order.  I reiterated that I decided I wanted the new screens based on the phone call they made to me a few months ago.  Again, she wanted to know what was wrong with the screens I had.

This conversation was going in circles and I believe that their intent is to get to your house and then find as many things wrong as they can.  At this point I don't think they plan to provide "free" screens, but we'll see.  She said they would be contacting me in about two weeks.

John,

I do apologize for the poor impression we have provided on how we handle our customers. I would like the opportunity to speak with you about your experience. It seems that you are already a customer of Statewide, and if this is the case, you are under warranty and we will honor it. We have a dedicated maintenance department whose sole purpose is to service our previous customers. If you recieved a call the purpose was to survey and to make sure you were happy.

Please feel free to contact me, Chris Scroggins, in customer relations. Or you can send your contact information to my email, cscroggins@statewideremodeling.com. Thanks John, and I look forward to speaking with you.

I was the person who complained about Statewide Remodeling in the above post.  I was pleasantly surprised by the way they took care of me.  They came to my house within two weeks of calling and fixed the problem immediately.  There were no charges and the worker was very friendly and professional.  Clearly, a different business philosophy than they had six years ago.
