After they kept trying to get me to pay cash and a couple of other things, I asked them to remove my stuff from their truck.  They finally convinced me to allow them to move my stuff by telling me I could pay for it all by credit card that night.  The mover told me I was right on track with my box count.  After he loaded everything he said it was a little over and would be around $1900.

He lied to me and wrote a different number down.  When I asked to pay the $1900 he said he couldnt take my card and took off with my stuff.  I tried to call the company.  They next day we told them to give us our stuff back.  Under the original contract, the contract stated that they would not leave the state if was not paid.  They apparently left the state.  We went back and forth.

On 09/21/2011 I paid $2,300 to have my stuff delivered.  They delivered is later than they said, arriving on 10/11/2011.  The estimated 90 boxes over that they claimed through the whole thing was a lie.  My husband counted, and they over claimed 40 boxes.  They have not returned my husbands phone calls.  We are missing several items, most of our large items were seriously damaged, and all the boxes marked fragile were flattened like pancakes.

My husband has tried to call them several times.  We have both asked for an itemized list on their part due to the charges- never received.  They called me and told me they were sending the list to claims.  This was a lie.  My husband and I have submitted our things to the claim company.  The claim company has informed us on that nothing has been done because State Wide will not file the paperwork.  It is the end of January and Im still dealing with this. This is criminal.

Statewide A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE

AUTHOR: Lyn Miami - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, April 28, 2012

I used Statewide Van Lines from Miami for my move to my new residence in Maryland. Everything was ok during my pick up but 3 days later I got a phone call from my new condo. They had a problem with the new carpet instalation, they needed 3 extra days! I paniced and called Statewide right away and they offered to put my items in their storage facility. They were really helpful and understanding. All I had to do was contact them when the apartment was ready. The estimate was very reasonable and it NEVER CHANGED. Thanks.
