On Thursday, April 28, 2014  we were looking for a HVAC licensed person to fix our AC unit.  We contacted a person (Steven Barber) by phone and explained the situation.  He told his diagnosing fee would be $49.  When he arrived at our house we asked him to show us his license, but he said he left it at his office or home.  We felt we had no choice but to let him see the AC.  First he said it was a rollout problem, then he said it was a bad board.  He then told us he was going to his truck to place the order.  He said the part would be in the next day.  We gave him the check for $49 and he left in his truck.  We called him many times, but the call was not returned.  We finally reported the issue to Fairfax County Financial Crimes.  We do not recommend anyone to use this person.  It seems he is just going place to place scamming people.
