As the other report on Stevens Transport, I too had an abusive trainer. The sad thing is that he may still be out there training. When you report mistreatment to your counselor they are suppose to help you. I had the same counselor, Renee, as in the other report. She knew of everything that was going on and didn't do one thing to help me.
When I got my own truck I unfortunately had to spend a lot of time in the shop. I was out on my trips when my truck broke down, it got repaired and I was able to return back to driving. The problem lies in the fact that I was put up in motels(at their expense), repairs was done(at their expense) I was suppose to get paid for all of those days I was waiting for the repairs to get done(they have a deaf ear). Stevens owes me 10 days worth of pay and I will never be reimbursed for lost wages. So be forwarned.

Break down pay

Stevens transport pays drivers breakdown pay of $125 a day after the first 24 hours. They also cover a hotel if needed. This is for their lease drivers. You have to 1) send in the breakdown macro on the Qualcomm to start your time and 2) work with your DM for it to get paid out as he/she will have to get it approved.

Ok what are you,a trucking company owner,a dispatcher, what?
I've been a truck driver for 39 years and not many get PAYED for down time, some times if your lucky they will give 25 to 50 bucks after every 24 hours out of the generosity of their hearts, and yes that was sarcasm.
Paid and Payed are both ok,just because your computer don't except it you don't have to insult this person.

In your original report, you never specified what your work status was.
(This is very important, but missing information).
Were you hired as an "employee"/company driver, or were you brought on as a "contractor" under a lease agreement??
MOST companies pay employees/company drivers for breakdown, but only at minimum wage for 8-12 hrs, etc, or a flat breakdown/detention pay as specified in your employment agreement such as $100 a day, after the first 12 hours, or 24 hours, etc.
What did YOUR employment agreement specify??
Did you ever sign an employment agreement??
It is common practice for an employer to provide a hotel room at company expense for an employee when the company equipment breaks down, as this company equipment is also your home, and you have been displaced from your home due to the breakdown of their junk.
(However, the payment of such hotel expense will be taxed as "income").
For the other contributor, go back to the third grade and try again.
It is "paid" not "payed".
You obviously know nothing about the trucking business or the law.

I couldn't even begin to imagine them telling you that you would get paid if you where broke down.I was amazed that they payed for a motel. But I'm sure you have caught them in other lies.
Good luck and God Bless.
