On 12/9/10 Mr. Trey Yarborough from Stevenson Suzuki called me on my cell phone at work and asked me if I would be interested in trading my 2008 Suzuki. He said that he was calling previous customers to offer them special end of the year deals. We made a time to meet after I got off work. I asked my daughter and granddaughter to ride with me so I wouldnt be traveling alone at night. When I arrived at the dealership Mr. Yarborough already had a car picked out for me. Per our conversation I had told him that I wanted a car just like mine the only difference was that I wanted automatic transmission because my 2008 was standard transmission and I was tired of changing gears (Trade in attachment A). The car was beautiful and I was very excited with it. I drove it and it drove fine. He told me that if I wanted to make the trade that the paperwork (contract attachment B) was ready and by 9:20 I was out of the dealership door with a new car, fastest I have ever bought a car I bragged to my daughter. For the last two years I have made payments of $424.60 per month to Wells Fargo Dealer Services (Attachment C) for what I thought was a NEW car.

On Monday December 17, 2012 I decided that I would like to take advantage of the lower interest rates and trade my car to hopefully lower my car payment. I went to Stevenson Honda in Wilmington first and the salesman said it would take about 4-5 thousand dollars down payment to trade my car. Discouraged, I called a friend at Bob King Pontiac and spoke to him about trading my car with them. He said to come on over and he would put me in a new car. When I got there he pulled up a CarFax (attachment D) report on my car and came back to me saying that I would need to put down about $5,000.00 to trade this car because it had been wrecked. Stunned I looked at the CarFax and realized that the car was wrecked before I purchased it. According to the CarFax Report Stevenson Suzuki received the car on January 13, 2010, the car was wrecked on April 25, 2010 and sold to me on December 9, 2010 as a NEW car. My friend suggested I call the original dealer and speak with them. I was very upset, disappointed and played for a fool by this dealership so I decided to call them the next morning so I could have a clear head.
On Tuesday December 18th I called Stevenson Suzuki in Wilmington NC when the operator answered I asked to speak to the General Manager of Sales, she said his name was David Fisher. When Mr. Fisher answered the phone I told him what I had found out and he asked me for the Vin# and he was going to research it and call me back later. I waited until 4:00 pm for him to call me back and then I called the dealership again to speak to Mr. Fisher. The operator told me he had left for the day. I called back on Wednesday December 19th and Mr. Fisher apologized and told me there had been a death in the family and he had left early. At that time he told me that he wasnt scared of the car and would sell me a new 2013 SX4 Suzuki for a lower payment for $13,900. However, he omitted to tell me that Suzuki went bankrupt in November 2012. It is obvious to me that they are still being dishonest with me.

That same afternoon at 4:30 Mr. Pat Kabbalah who is the manager of all of the Stevensons Dealerships in Wilmington called me and said they were investigating the situation. I have not heard from either of them since that day. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and then a friend told me to contact the Attorney Generals Office in NC. At the General Attorneys office Ms. Jessica told me how to file a complaint with the office.

I am a 53 year old widow, elementary teacher. I work hard for my money and try to live by honor. I entered into this contract in good faith I have struggled every month to make this payment. I feel that they have taken advantage of me, they knew the car had been wrecked before I purchased it and they chose not to tell me and sold me a NEW car that had been wrecked. They called me to purchase the car and I trusted them because I had already purchased from Suzuki before when Bruce Cavenaugh owned the dealership. Im aware of end of the year deals, and was pleased with the previous Suzuki guarantee and service. I had no reason to think that they would on purpose take advantage of me.

As of March 27, 2013 Nobody from the dealership has called me eventhough Pat Kabbalah promised to fix this problem.
