In the past month I have placed 27 phone calls and made 7 trips to Stivers Ford at 4000 Eastern Blvd in Montgomery, Alabama all concerning my 2012 Ford Escape. On September 20, 2017 my 2012 Ford Escape suddenly lost power while I was driving. When the car powered off completely it would not start again. The initial visit was made on September 21, 2017 by my husband and father who were both told that my battery cables were loose which caused the shutdown of my car.

The next visit, made by my husband, was on September 22, 2017, at the request of Stivers Ford, to drop off my spare key to be reprogrammed. Once we realized my car would be at Stivers Ford for a few days, I called and asked about obtaining a courtesy car to use while my car was being repaired. I was told "no" because loaner cars had to be reserved. On September 25, 2017 after being without a vehicle for the weekend I went to pick up my car.

I was told the repair was not covered under warranty and required to pay $250.00 for the tightening of the battery cable. I advised the Service Advisor Chris Knox that per the Ford website, there was a recall part on my model vehicle (Electronic Throttle Body) which seemed to be the issue. This representative was rude and basically argued with me that, that was not the issue. So as any patron would do, I assumed he was the correct and left with the understanding that my car had been repaired.

On Sunday October 1, 2017 (not a full week later) my car powered down once again while driving, but this time I was able to get it to restart. On Monday October 2, 2017 I called Stivers Ford and advised the representative, Chris Knox, that the same issue had occurred again and requested to speak with a manger. After being told that the manager was "out sick" I was advised to bring my car back in to have another diagnostic test done.

I told the representative that I would not be comfortable doing so without speaking with a manager first. Miraculously, the Service Director Jeff Anderson, recovered and was able to speak with me, after our conversation I was told to bring my car back in and I would receive a loaner vehicle, so I drove my car back to Stivers. On this visit I spoke with Savannah and was made aware that no advanced reservation was needed to utilize a loaner car.

I advised her that because of the false information I received before I did not want to be assisted by the Service Advisor that assisted me on my previous visit. I was then directed to Kevin. On October 3, 2017 I received a call from Kevin who stated my car was ready and the Electronic Throttle Body (my initial suggestion) had been replaced. On October 4, 2017 I went back to Stivers to pick up my car and return the loaner.

On Tuesday October 17, 2017 I went to get in my car and to my surprise IT WOULD NOT START, I then had my car towed back to Stivers. I called and spoke with Kevin again and was told that he would have my loaner ready for me to pick up once the towing company dropped my car off. I called Stivers Ford and requested to speak with Kevin concerning the status of my vehicles repair. He then told me that it had been repaired, when I asked what the issue was this time, I was told that the PCM was not getting power due to the wires connecting the battery being frayed. I questioned, “How is it that this issue was not discovered the previous times my car was there for repair?” I was never given answer.

My next visit to Stivers was on October 19, 2017, I went to pick up my car and return the loaner, after waiting 30 minutes for my car to be put through the car wash I was told that the keys to my vehicle had been misplaced. I was told to continue to use the loaner car (which was not comparable to my vehicle) and that once my keys were located I would be contacted. On October 20, 2017, after not hearing back from Stivers, I called and spoke with Kevin was told that my keys would have to be replaced because my initial keys were NEVER FOUND.

Kevin stated that he had one key made with the keyless entry function and one without. I advised Kevin that both of my keys were equipped with keyless entry, not just one. Kevin stated he did not have the authority to make a second key with keyless entry, and that the manager would have to make that call, but was unavailable until Monday. After refusing to pick up my car without both keys I was told I would be contacted by the General Manager concerning the issue, whom I have yet to hear from.
