Looks like I'm another victim to add to this list.
On Dec 7,2005 I went to a seminar held by storesonline at Hyatt Regency in Vancouver. After there very good but deceitful sales tactics, I purchased the option to build 6 web sites thru their services.

After spending a month studying their literature, I found that it states differently then what they explained at the seminar. There are added and hidden fees. They said things at the seminar like, just hand a catalogue of products to our programmers and they will do it for you. When you read the extensive literature, it explains that it is not that easy. You have to do a tremendous amount more. It also says that this is a very costly in the literature but not at the seminar.
In ripoffreport. com I found over 300 bad references to stores online.

Upon reading further, I found their web sites do not run properly, even with the tiniest .jpegs applied to the site. Also reading further, their creditably standing would inhibit the use of reliable credit merchant accounts. If not now, in the very near future. I realized that further investment in this service would prove futile. To prevent further loss, I wish to cancel. I had to figure out how I would approach this gracefully. (In dealing with Criminal companies, one needs a very strategic approach) I explained that due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn't go forward in utilizes your services and therefore wish to cancel my use with your service. I sent this on Feb 4th, 06. Their customer service response was unrelated to issue and very evasive.

I had to finance the remainder of the money that was required for their service from them to build web sites. Their subsidiary service is Travelers Acceptance Corporation, Suite 500, 4180 Loughheed Hwy, Burnaby BC V5C 6A7. Phone # 800.667.6640 Fax 800.360.9129.

Upon reading the finance agreement, the amended agreement says that even in the event of a legal action against them, they still have the right to debit my account if need be to pay them anyway. Apparently, even if I cancel service and don't utilize there web building tools. Obviously I was so manipulated by sales tactic that it clouded my better judgment. Right now they are charging my credit card $302.83 per month. The first charge on Feb 1st,2006. I paid $1,000.00 dollars down initially on the day of the seminar via my credit card.

Of course, to prevent further financial loss, I cannot go forward with putting more money into building websites thru them incurring the extra hidden fees involved. Will I have to keep making my previously arranged payments with them? Do I have any recourse on this? Is there any direction you can steer me on this? It also says in the amended agreement that they will debit my chequing account if I default on the payments. This would leave me homeless. My pay cheque also goes directly into my account. If they take that to pay the balance in full faster than the 24 months previously agreed, it will be devastating. Should I change banking institutions now to prevent this, or will that help.
The credit card company said even if I cancel my card, it won't prevent from them charging me further and being liable for this. The credit card company asked for proof that I canceled my service with storesonline. But so far, storesonline is not cooperating with me to do this.

this guy has yet to call me back

AUTHOR: Noreen - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, February 23, 2006

I left 2 messages for Don Danks to call me this week. No response yet. I have filed complaints with the Competition Bureau in Quebec, the Better Business Bureau in Utah, the Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Affairs over the past two weeks. Although I just sent them an initial letter of complaint via there online services, I am in the process of collecting supporting data to my claim. I have found a tremendous amount of supporting documents from the Vancouver Public Libraries electronic resource database. This can be accessed for free with a current library card. Apparently, they have been practicing deceitful and misleading sales seminars for years.

In reference to the rebuttal from Don Danks. Mr. Danks, if you think your stock prices may be affected from these reports, wait till the people catch wind that us Canadians are working vigorously to bar you from doing business in our country. Yes, just read the references from the Canadians and see that although we are a polite nation, we also fight very hard against deceitful practices of any kind. Mr. Danks, I am not spending hours and hours researching and reporting back to this web site to drive your stocks down. I want to cancel my service with your company.

Now in my original report I was apprehensive about disclosing my name. Not now, I've have recovered from the fear and I am in dispute mode.

How dare your sales reps lie to us at the seminar. They even responded that storesonline is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Not only is your company NOT a member, you may hold the record for the highest amount of complaints. Your company has 336 complaints in a mere 36 months. There is an exhaustive list of misleading information, all I have saved and recorded for my official complaints to the proper authorities.

Now, I suggest you return my call so we can discuss this. I refuse to invest further or do business with a company of your caliber.

To all of you people out there that have helped me dispute this. I sincerely thank you for all your help in steering me in the right direction. Although this isn't resolved yet, it will be soon, one way or the other. Lets keep fighting and together.

Dispute the Credit Card Charge, Change Banks, File a Complaint with the Canadian Competition Bureau

AUTHOR: Nancy - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, February 10, 2006

If this were my circumstance, I would immediately and vehemently dispute the credit card charge on the grounds of inability to render a service, failure to disclose, misrepresentation, etc. You could provide proof of this in that StoresOnline have not responded to your request for cancellation of their service / product.

A large part of what you purchased was 24/7 support via e-mail and live chat. Use the service, keep a record of all your communications. Show how they are incapable of providing a service you paid for. As well argue that you cannot/will not do business with such an unethical, fraudulent company. Did they disclose to you, prior to your purchase, their business history, their litigation history, their current financial statements?

Of course, I don't know if they are in violation of Canadian Law for not doing so but it sounds like good grounds to argue why you will not / cannot do business with them. You will need to be polite, firm and insistant in your correspondence with them. You will need to keep records of all correspondence to prove your points. StoresOnline stated very clearly that their product is non-refundable and non-cancelable, in their reponse to me. this however was not disclosed to me. Was this disclosed at the time of your sale? Was this disclosed in you purchase paperwork? If the answer if no, then I would insist again on a letter of dispute with your credit card carrier and the finance company.

I would refuse to pay and allow the charges to be outstanding until the matter is resolved. If necesary, I would close my bank account and open another one. Speak to your bank manager, show them the documents that show this company as fraudulent. Ask them to help you to protect your funds from further fraud, while the charges are under investigation. I expect and certainly hope this company goes bankrupt and it's principals to jail. If you research this company, and show these reports to your banker)you will see that bankrupcty and jail have surrounded their past lives. I am amazed at the depth of this company's history!

You and I, we are the tip of the iceburg. In my letter of dispute to the parties, I would attach a copy of the Orem, Utah Better Business Bureau Report and the title page of rip-off report for StoresOnline, showing 344 entries of complaint for this company. You could also attach or at the very least make reference to the web site www.stocklemon.com, (click on archives and go to all the articles about Imergent Inc, the parent company of StoresOnline.) This will support your argument that these guys are indeed fraudulent.

They are currently before the Securities and Exchange Commision for fraud, misrepresentation, failure to disclose, etc. Give your bankers, credit card and finance company's copies of Salt Lake Tribune's Jan 30th news article: "Orem's Imergent Misses Another Filing Deadline." This will help prove your point and give credence to your complaint and letter of dispute.

Next, I would contact and file a report with the Competition Bureau, 50 Victoria Street, Gatineau, Quebec K1A 0C9, call toll free 1-800-348-5358. From my experience, they are the Canadian Authority who will do a thorough investigation determining if StoresOnline abided by Canadian Consumer and or Business Opportunity Laws. Does StoresOnline not have an obligation to disclose, when selling consumer or business opportunities, that it has a record of fraudulent, deceptive practices? That it has been before the State of Maine, the State of California, the State of Texas, the State of Washington, the County of Australia? Canadians need to notify Canadian Authorities so that our voices can be heard. Perhaps with enough voices a class action lawsuit will ensue.

You could and should send a complaint to the Utah Division of Consumer protection. Here is the link: consumerprotection.utah.gov.

Hope these suggesions are helpful and goodluck.

need more help

AUTHOR: Noreen - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, February 09, 2006

The correct date of seminar that I purchased the web sites on is Dec. 20, 06 in Vancouver BC. Dec 7th was the initial seminar. Looking for a lawyer and community support on this from other people that have fallen pray to this company in British Columbia. I'm ready to fight this in a class action and / or whatever other legal avenues to take. Visa will not stop accepting charges from Travelers Financial even if card is cancelled. There has got to be a way to fix this. Laws differ from province to province and are certainly different than the American Laws. I do appreciate the feedback though. Need more feedback on help.

How to get credit card charges stopped!

AUTHOR: Kenneth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 06, 2006

I have learned that when using the net to make purchases that it is best to have at least two credit cards. One you use for internet purchases only and one for everything else. If you feel ripped off immediately report it to your credit card company and have the card cancelled and a new one issued. They are usually happy to do this for you. At the same time never disclose bank information, but if you have and are getting charged, simply close the bank account and open a new one at the same bank. The rip off artists will soon find they cannot get paid and will stop charging you.
