My flip phone (LG) died. I called Straight Talk and they said they'd send me a brand new free phone and all I would need to pay is the $30 card like that which I'd been using for over two years now. They said they'd transfer the due date to the new phone and when it expired I would then refill the phone. It sounded like a good deal.

When the phone came and I charged it, I called Live Chat and the representative, "Nandy" transferred the due date and 782 minutes remaining to the new phone. I couldn't access my voicemail to set up my greeting so I called Live Chat again tonight. This time I spoke with "Cynthia."

She did some programming on her end and said it would now work. It didn't. i also asked Cynthia where I had to go to see how many more minutes remained because when I clicked on Prepaid, all I could see was the due date, not the minutes remaining.

Cynthia checked and came back to tell me that there weren't any options to check on the amount of time I had left on my particular phone. She said I'd have to contact Straight Talk to find out my balance. She told me she just checked and I had 275 minutes left.

She came back on the line and told me to press a code and that now I could set up my voicemail. When I did, I got a message that I couldn't make the call because there was no money on the account.

I told her something must be wrong because I didn't use up 500 minutes in two days since my new phone arrived. Meanwhile, I had opened another tab on their Straight Talk portal and found a tab to check balance under My Accounts. When I did, it said I had 0 minutes left. Thus, someone cut my minutes at Straight Talk because the only call I made was to a friend for approximately 55 minutes.

I suspect that Straight Talk manipulated my minutes and stole them from me so that I would be compelled to use the car they sent me to use once my due date of 1/26 arrives. Then why did they tell me they'd transfer what I had left? They lied.

Anyway, Cynthia said I'd need to call another number because this would require talking with someone on the phone. Now how do I do that since they stole my minutes from me? I told Cynthia I want to send back the card and get a refund, so I asked her for the address. She said the investigation team I needed to send the card to to get a refund didn't have an address.

Should I send the card to the address where the phone was sent to me from along with the card itself?

So the "free" phone wasn't free after all. They stole from me and obviously had it all planned, pretending to transfer what I had left to the new phone when in reality they never did it in the first place.

Is this any way to treat a customer who has been a customer for about 2 1/2 years? Well, they just lost another one!

Answer to rebuttal from Straight Talk

Sorry, but too much of my time has been wasted by Straight Talk with these live chats and the nonsense in which you stole my minutes, as I said. You apparently just wanted me to use the $30 card I paid for to get the new phone right away, which is downright disgusting and unfair. I paid for the minutes I had left till my expiration date, which happens to be today.

The only thing you can do to make it right is give me a legitimate address for me to send back the $30 card and get my money back. I will not continue wasting further time with writing yet another e-mail to you. So will you give me a legitimate mailing address/name of a supervisor to send the $30 card to so you credit me for this purchase?

I scratched off the bar on the back for the pin number, thinking I would add it today, but as you know, I have not added it. I WILL NOT add it. So, to reiterated, I want my $30 back. I'm done with you and have since bought a phone and card for another carrier.
