I use Straight Talk Wireless as my service provider.
The best service price available. $45.00 a month, unlimited calls, text, and data.
*NOTE: If you read there terms and conditions, "Data" is referred to as "Web Access ONLY" however they have only shut one person off for using too much data, and he was tethering to his entire college class for over a month.
So anyway I utilize the Straight Talk Sim, which is available from their website for only $9.99. Than I went to EBay and bought a phone under the search term, GSM DUAL SIM, as any with the 850 and 1900 mhz bands work fine with Straight Talk.
So got my Sim, got my number transferred, and was good to go!
Well my Sim card turned out to be defective. Oh well, I called Straight Talk, they issued me a few days of free service, and sent out a replacement Sim Card as soon as we figured out the issue.
(nice guys huh?)
Than when I got the Sim card in the mail, I was instructed to take it out of the package, insert it into the phone, and call Straight Talk to activate it.
The Straight Talk Rep, whom was activating my new sim card, accidentally clicked something on her screen, and requested to change my phone number, deactivating my current phone number with Straight Talk.
Needless to say, this phone number I had was awesome the last four digits ended in (5683) which is "LOVE: on the keypad. And now I was told my number was lost forever.
I tried everything over a few weeks to get it back, and was unsuccessful in my various attempts. I tried custom requesting that number through my local phone company and so fourth with no luck.
Finally I called the Super Visor line on 12/3/2012 and said look, I understand, your rep messed up, but here is what the deal is, I explained everything to them, including that I could be a d**k and yell at them and demand free service for life, but I won't, I could even scream for a year card which I won't. But I feel that an additional 6 Months from the current service end date as promised by previous reps over the past few weeks is fair.
In all I got 11 Months for free over the course of two weeks of phone calls.
However I lost my phone number and had to take a new number in the process.

When You activate your Straight Talk service, you will be provided with a telephone number or you may, in some circumstances, port-in a number from another carrier. Please note that You have no ownership rights to any telephone number, IP address or any other identifier associated with your wireless service and You acknowledge and agree that we may change any such number, IP address or other identifier associated with your Straight Talk service at any time without prior notice to You.
Well, I think it was fair, I really did like my number, and it sucks that they lost it by a stupid CSR, however I guess with talking enough and too the right people, you can end up being rewarded greatly in the end, and terms / conditions can be over looked.
Expect nothing from Straight Talk's $45.00 a month plan, and you will be happy with what you get. It is more than nothing, but don't try and mess with your phone plan or anything just pay your bill, keep your data usage under 5 gigs a month and you will be happy, you can even get 4G with their service.
