I am a graduate of Strayer. I've had a so, so dismay is they are too money hungry for me, to the point that I wouldn't recommend this school without caution. The Financial-aide, department.. is outsourced and they don't know what they are doing. Other departments are clueless as well. The root of there cause is the dollar bill...after you get in there. Also, there online school is higher than most and if you have a loan from before continuing from elsewhere, you won't have enough to finish. They don't care, either. Because I was never told from the beginning. I was 5 classes away from a bachelors, meanwhile clued me in ...that I was reaching my limit in aide. Which I had no clue. So, I was forced to take two clases, one was introductory to word, that by the way..took two days to decide by a dean that I was take a class they put in at the last minute, for my associates, when I was going for bachelors. I told them I wanted something not nothing. Anyway, I was forced to take 2 classes when I only had funding for one. Well, make a long story short..prior to this I was told I had a book bal., of over a thousand and change. They told me to stay out a quarter to pay for it. Well, where is the other half of my loan grant?? I asked them, repeatedly! Because when I finished I had.... what would you know, a balance for the other class I couldn't pay for, I could only pay one. The balance was over 900 bucks and change. Well, my questions and me professing fraud, made me only at a balance of 150..go figure, ths is my balance I got no change of bal., paperwork or email from them...odd huh?? Well, they just put me on collections, find out today. After I made a $25 dollar payment to them. I will admit I'm late but I had email correspondence with Massey, twice, in reply to hers..I told her that I am disabled, not working (due to car accident, in 08) and I'm waiting for a check to come in pay, and that I am going to make the full payment this month. So, I can have my degree on paper... Anyway, Please be cautious of this school. Recheck everything, keep all paperwork and emails on all correspondence. To protect yourself. I dopn't want to bash this school its not my reasoning. I am just being truthful and honest and I hope this will help someone or maybe the administrators here will act accordingly instead of pretending their way of business isn't a problem. This school has forgotten their students and have gotten to obsessed over how much money they can pull in. I could go on and on about this school but, from the crookledness of a few Professors, who try to fail me. Me trying to drop a class, but the refused to let me, where I ended up failing and repeating!! I've even wrote the dean about unfairness, and they brushed me off. I had one Professor giving me a bad grade that wasn't correct during mid-terms was told I was over-reacting..well he ended uo writing me a personnal letter for my records in regards to his mistake. Gosh, its just endless but I'll end it there.

Thank you..for your report. Iam truly sorry for your experince and I am truly sorry for the rude remarks of the first response you've had. I understood your post completely. I've known of other students who have graduated and feel cheated by this school. By the way, your English means nothing in the relying of your message it is of truth. It is so easy for the hippocrates to sit at their computer and spew out hateful mindless jesters by way of words to a keyboard.

I wish you well mam and i hope you are feeling better. This school hopefully will face a class action lawsuit one day...only time will tell. Folks, I'VE SPOKE TO have had issues with not being able to drop classes, have had issues of financial aide mismanaging their funds and a whole slue of other crazy complaints I've heard about this college. Anyway, thank-you for taking your time out to warn others about this school. If others can't see that well then thats their sad issue. God bless you.

To the OP: I am not a guy, I do not work for Strayer, and I am not a moron. I'm actually a well-educated middle-aged woman who has worked in college administration for the better part of 20 years. I read your complaint carefully before responding. You had two issues that I could tell. First they "forced" you to take two classes. No one can force you to do anything. If the courses aren't part of your degree plan, you don't take them. Second, you obviously don't understand the financial aid process. As Flyrider suggested, you should do your homework first.

If you read through ROR you'll notice that virtually ALL of the complaints about schools have to do with the financial aid process. In almost all the cases I've read and responded to, the OP has failed to maintain an accurate accounting of what they are being billed, what their loans and grants are paying, and what they may or may not owe. The schools exacerbate the problem by changing advisors and F/A personnel, not communicating with the student, and delays in processing paperwork. But it is STILL the student's responsibility to stay on top of things.

One statement you made that I failed to respond to the first time was:

"Me trying to drop a class, but the refused to let me..."

If you tried to drop after the official drop/add date, then they were right. But if you have an email requesting the drop BEFORE the drop/add date, then you're right and have a valid case. Which was it? A "drop" after the official date is usually called a "withdrawal" and may be reflected as an "F" on your transcript.

"You should do your homework before you enroll."

All one needs to do is type "John Adams" into the search box on this site and that should tell them everything they need to know.

Why are you reposting this post, I saw this last night, you posting this same very thing about grammer---Who cares!!! For one, I am disabled it took allot out of me to write the post and I was very tired and in pain. Two the main objective was to get my point across, which you sadly missed, through your ignorance. I guess you work for Strayer? Or just their guy to promote your lies as to how great they are!!I don't really care, what you think or how you think of me your a moron and a waste of my energy. Find someone else to play with.

"The root of there cause is the dollar..."

"Also, there online school..."

Your lack of writing skills is reason enough for potential students to bypass this school.A college graduate who doesn't know the difference between "there" and "their" (as just one example) hasn't learned enough.

"if you have a loan from before continuing from elsewhere, you won't have enough to finish. They don't care, either. Because I was never told from the beginning. "

It is the STUDENT"S responsibility to understand the loan process and how much they are entitled to. This information is freely available on the federal student loan page.

"where is the other half of my loan grant??"

There is no such thing as a "loan grant". You receive one or the other or both. This is another example of your lack of knowledge of how the financial aid (not "aide") process works.

You were ripped off, for sure. They apparently allowed you to pass classes (such as English) that you shouldn't have.
