Folks:

If you wanted to be treated badly by a company, then Structural Design Group is it. This firm is headed by Cal Poly Alums Richard D. Burris, Lawrence H. Dunn & Brian D. Hartley. These CPDGs post ads on Craigslist stating they
are looking for people. If you're really lucky, you'll get a chance to interview them. When you get there, they state they are not hiring! Guess they discriminate against the long-term unemployed, even if they hold a California Structural Engineer License.

This means that this firm wastes people's times for non-existent jobs. How can they claim green design when they have their candidates spend hundreds of dollars on rental cars, gas, and plane tickets? We can
only imagine how they treat their clients if this is an indication of how they treat prospective employees. So next time when you see an ad for this firm, you should take it with a grain of salt because the job may not actually be there.

What these guys don't realize is that they have received the unwanted attention of California state senator Mike Allen. He's writing the bill banning employers from discriminating against the long-term unemployed. His office loved knowing who these companies are. The office loved hearing about them coming from Structural Engineering firms.

At Structural Design Group, they didn't invent discrimination against the long-term unemployed, they just perpetrate
it.
