STS tire STS Long Wait for engine code and did nothing but charged you $99.90 monmouth junction, New Jersey

If you have a check engine light on.  Never, I mean never bring this to this repair service.  It is a big rip off.  Here is what happened when I had my check engine light on my van some time back.

I got panic, so I brought this to this repair shop STS.  I had to wait for at least 3 hours. All my morning I spent there and what I got was an engine code number.  The charge for diagnostic is $99.90, and they tell me I had to change the sensor, and some part (I forgot the name of it).  Anyway, besides the $99.90, I would have to pay extra $1000 to have it fixed.  Who knows how long it will take if they fix it.

If you have check engine light code on and just want to know what it is. Get a ODC reader, costs about $50.00 and go to internet and you can check out the code.  This place STS basically wants to rip you off.  They probably had the same reader, and just leave your car hanging for hours before telling you what's wrong. I could have done it myself.  Or you can go to any oil change place, they can tell you what the code is free of charge.  Sometimes, dealer is better because they know what they are doing, but the cost may be higher than usual.  But with this ripoff, it is not worth it at all.


Also, before this time, I brought my van to fix the transmission, I spent like $3000, and went there few times to have it fixed.  They couldn't really fix it.  It wasted my time.  Every time, the car came out with no code and after a week or two, the code kept coming back.  At last, I ended up selling my van.  (I had a feeling they just reset your code and did nothing to my car at that time)
