I recently purchased tickets to a Monster Jam event in Tampa Fl. I had the misfortune of ordering them from StubHub. When the tickets arrived they were face value priced at $16.50 but I was charged $42.00 a piece(4 Tickets) for a total of over $200.00.

I know that they have a "disclaimer" on every page and that that the price is going to be a bit higher but not over 100%!!! The sad part is that I live not 20 mins from the stadium and could have picked them up for face value. I called them to report the discrepancy and their answer was that there was nothing they could do, because the tickets were sold by somene else(seller) and they wont disclose whom.

So, in reality these people act as a brokerage firm for Con Artists and thieves. Doesn't anybody care that we are being ripped off by companies like these?

What has happened to Integrity, Honesty and Decency, that allows companies like this to thrive at the expense of others?
BEWARE!!! StubHub allows the "raping" of consumers while washing their hands like Pontius Pilate, a little water washes the sin away, while they laugh all the way to the bank.

I will make it my mission to spread the word so that no else gets ripped off and I will talk to the local media about this matter.

Stubhub does not set prices

AUTHOR: Donna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Since Stubhub IS an agent to connect buyers and sellers, you have to make a decision as to how much you are willing to pay to attend an event. I paid $237 to attend a concert and when I got the ticket which had been printed from a computer, the face value on the ticket was $79.50. You can't blame Stubhub or the seller - you accepted the terms of the sale just as I did. The point is I had the choice to pay the price I paid. In my case, I live 500 miles from the venue but was already going to be in that town for another concert two days before and I decided I wanted to be on row 2 of the 2nd concert and it was worth the $237 the buyer was asking. Stubhub gets a commission which also includes the cost of Fed-X shipping. I just sold 2 tickets on Stubhub and actually took a small loss because of the commission (but the buyer paid $10 more than face value) but that was my decision as well. If you could have gotten your tickets for face value, why would you use a service like Stubhub? As for calling ticket sellers con artists and thieves, that's really not fair.  You decided it was worth $42 a ticket to go to your event.
