On August 18, 2008 I purchased 2 tickets from Stubhub.com for a Sporting event UFC 90. I paid a hefty premium $1441.95 for what was represented as premium seats. The web site said that the tickets I was purchasing were for Section 109, Row AA. I was notified after the transaction that the tickets purchased were for Section 106, Row H. (Please keep in mind that the tickets in Section 109, row AA are front row seats in the elevated section where the participants enter the event. Section 106, Row H is further back in the elevated sections, not where the participants enter the event and 12 rows further back.) I immediately e-mailed Stubhub (literally 3 minutes after I received their confirmation, e-mail is attached) and advised them of the misrepresentation that had occurred on the web site regarding the tickets. I requested at that time that the transaction be cancelled and I be allowed to purchase the tickets I had requested. I was assured that the matter would be corrected.

At 1:30 pm I received an e-mail from Joyce from SubHub advising me that the seller would be contacting me about the matter. At that point I responded to Joyce's e-mail and requested that the transaction be canceled. I received no response to that e-mail.

I then called Stubhub to again confirm cancellation of the order and to confirm that they did not have my authorization to make a purchase for tickets in Section 106, Row H. Unfortunately, I spoke with a representative, Greg (who refused to spell his first name or even provide me with his last name). It was apparent after speaking with Greg that I had been scammed. He even told me "that I was stuck with the tickets", implying that Stubhub had "got me". He also suggested that I could try to resell the tickets through Stubhub if I did not like them.

Realizing that Stubhub's customer satisfaction guarantee was looking worthless I e-mailed Joyce at 3:33 p.m. advising her that she did not have authority to use my credit card to make this transaction. At 4:01 and 5:47 p.m. I again requested someone contact me about the matter and also documented my conversation with Greg (with the unknown last name). Of course 8 hours and 18 minutes after my initial contact with Stubhub (in which I was assured the matter would be resolved) and 2 hours 24 minutes after I confirmed that StubHub did not have authority to charge my credit card I got an e-mail confirming that my credit card has been charged for seats that I never purchased.

Of course the most recent e-mail from stub hub ends with a fan protect guarantee that is obviously worthless.

At 8:19 pm I responded to StubHub's e-mail documenting the matter and asking someone to contact me. To date, I have received no response to my numerous e-mails to StubHub. It is apparent that Stubhub is not going to honor their guarantee nor address this problem. It defies logic that they could not correct this matter since they were notified of it within minutes after it occurred. I am currently trying to dispute the matter with my credit card company, however, StubHub's utter lack of customer service is extemely troubling. I might add that I think it is doubtful I will even get my tickets.

The scam they use based on mine and others experience is they claim to be selling you the tickets you selected. The confirmation you receive will be for different tickets. When you notify them they will try to somehow suggest that you clicked the wrong button and they have data to back it up. However, when you ask for a copy of the data it mysteriously cannot be located or duplicated. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY.
