This jerk advertises for the sale of colored aquarium and wedding sand(whatever that is) in a major Internet based classifieds forum.  After purchasing nearly 60 pounds of his garbage product, one of my tanks immediately went into shock, I nearly lost some very rare, prized coral specimens.  A painful tank teardown and gravel change cured the problem, but took hours.  At this point, I had another, 40 gallon tank, stocked with gravel from same source.  After several months, I finally realized, that the "gravel", or "sand" is not as advertised, it is granular resin.  This guy is selling granular plastic as gravel, supposedly for marine tanks.  This show tank was so sick for so long, the biological affects were simply traumatic.  Looking back on the purchase, something this guy said should have tipped me off, but I missed it.  Unfortunately, I made a mistake, please do learn from my mistakes.

I really love the part when he writes "Let me be crystal clear and state for the record that "I do not nor have I ever sold any 'granular resin' PERIOD", as if the reader should believe him NOW, especially since he is emphasizing his claimed honesty, in such a stern way.

And what is with the MSDS sheet? I'm sure you can provide me with an MSDS sheet for something other than what you sold me, so what!

Another thing, I am not so stupid to make all of these claims simply because a piece of aquarium livestock died, that stuff happens all the time, regardless of buying your deceptively advertised, deceptively sold, plastic resin. You my in-friend, are a liar, and a poor liar at that. If I were paying attention, at the time of purchase, considering the fact you were selling the product out of a U-haul truck, parked in front of your Irvine home, I might have avoided this painful purchase. Now go and do as other caught scammers do when discovered, change your company name and continue your hustle, but don't call me a liar. You know what you did, and probably have been doing the same for a long time, to many others, I'm just the guy who became so incensed and determined to expose your scam.

As for potential resin customers, I can only offer one suggestion. Before purchasing any of this company's so-called "sand", make sure you take a cigarette lighter, place some on the concrete ground and light. You will discover that this company's "sand" melts, something normal sand doesn't. Thank God for websites like Ripoffreport.com

Absolutely 1000% False & Misleading

AUTHOR: substratesupply - (United States of America)

I have been selling rock, sand and gravel for over 10+ Years!

Furthermore, I have readily available for any whom request it, a copy of the [MSDS] Material Safety Data Sheet for each and every product I sell.

A material safety data sheet (MSDS), safety data sheet (SDS),[1] or product safety data sheet (PSDS) is an important component of product stewardship and occupational safety and health. It is intended to provide workers and emergency personnel with procedures for handling or working with that substance in a safe manner, and includes information such as physical data (melting point, boiling point, flash point, etc.), toxicity, health effects, first aid, reactivity, storage, disposal, protective equipment, and spill-handling procedures. MSDS formats can vary from source to source within a country depending on national requirements.SDSs are a widely used system for cataloging information on chemicals, chemical compounds, and chemical mixtures. SDS information may include instructions for the safe use and potential hazards associated with a particular material or product. These data sheets can be found anywhere where chemicals are being used. There is also a duty to properly label substances on the basis of physico-chemical, health and/or environmental risk. Labels can include hazard symbols such as the European Union standard black diagonal cross on an orange background, used to denote a harmful substance. An SDS for a substance is not primarily intended for use by the general consumer, focusing instead on the hazards of working with the material in an occupational setting. In some jurisdictions, the SDS is required to state the chemical's risks, safety, and effect on the environment. It is important to use an SDS specific to both country and supplier, as the same product (e.g. paints sold under identical brand names by the same company) can have different formulations in different countries. The formulation and hazard of a product using a generic name (e.g. sugar soap) may vary between manufacturers in the same country.

Let me be crystal clear and state for the record that "I do not nor have I ever sold any 'granular resin' PERIOD"

Whomever made this entry can request the MSDS Sheet for whatever they purchased to confirm that his or her undeniably and offensivly false statements have literally ZERO merit whatsoever.

The next time something happens to his or her tank will I get blamed again? Is it at all possible that there exists an alternative explanation for the issues that happened with this tank? Is it a certainty that not one thing resulted as a result of something this customer overlooked and failed to recognize?

I can be contacted at SubstrateSupply@aol.com anytime anyday anyhour and anyminute to discuss further, answer questions, provide MSDS Sheets, and any other possible requests.

Thank you.
