I currently have credit at Suburban Propane in an approximate amount of $460.00, so I contacted them to see if they could make a delivery because I am currently at just below 5% in my tank. I was told by the female that I spoke with that they would not deliver any propane because she said that I would needed to come up with a balance of approx $380.00 to cover their so-called minimum delivery amount of a certain amount in gallons.

Additionally, when they received the payment which currently shows as a credit on my account, the price was way lower than the current retail prices which are $3.73 in this area, and to make things even worse, they are attempting to price gouge me into paying an even higher price of $4.67 per gallon because the winter weather has be worse this year than in previous years, knowing full well that cold weather is still here and I am at a complete disadvantage at this particular point in time since my tank is currently at less than 5%!!!

Suburban Propane is preying on the people who were foolish enough to do business with them and that are now at a complete disadvantage during this winter cold snap!!! You people should be completely ashamed of yourselves for jacking the price per gallon way up just because the winter weather has been so severe this year!!!

Price Gouging is against the law, I have contacted the BBB and filed a report with them pertaining to your underhanded practices!!!

FYI, I noticed I am not the only person to complain about what your company is doing!!!

Yep and an attorney will file a "class action" on ANYTHING they can get enough people to sign up for.

I know they attorneys are claiming people did not receive prior notice for an increase.  What in the agreement calls for that? I would bet the retailler got NO notice of price increase from the wholesaler.  Just an observation, feel free to disagree with it. No, I DON'T like lowlife, sleezeball, ambulance chasing attorneys. In my OPINION, they don't care for their clients, only what's in it for them.

Here's some sobering news for you....

The heavy demand for propane has caused the wholesale price to skyrocket due to the cold weather. Propane is bering imported from overseas to get enough to go around.  If your dealer doesn't pay the new, higher price, he'll have NO propane at all..  They're in a bind too..many can't pay their bills and they're trapped paying the higher prices. I would expect many to out of business due to the prices they're having to pay and pass along.

The only hope is for an early spring.  I wish all of you with these huge bills the best, but don't know what can be done.

I don't think the BBB, the FTC or states attorney generals can help either.  The politicians, especially those up for re-election may launch and "investigation" and subpoena propane industry principals to testify.  It's bogus and they're just playing to their constituents.  In the end they'll "discover" it's all market driven.

No, I don't work for or have ANY interest in a propane company. I also use natural gas which, in my area has raised significantly in price too.  We've taken all steps we can to cut our usage as it makes a dent in our budget too.
