Success Path, Rules of Renovation, or whatever they're calling themselves at the moment will just entice you to a free seminar (fair enough) under the guise of learning how to flip houses.  They use the likeness of the HGTV host du jour (for my free seminar last month, they were using Hilary Farr from "Love It or List It") to trick you into thinking that it's more about flipping houses, etc.  What you will eventually find out is that these folks are NOT about flipping in as much as they are taking your money for educational workshops on HOW TO BUY TAX LIENS THAT ARE ABOUT TO EXPIRE.

I love both Love It or List It, and Flip or Flop, so of course, I went to the free seminar.  This seminar exists for one reason and one reason only; to upsell you to buying the educational seminars that last three days.

The actual companies behind this are called things like Tax Lien Vault, or Tax Lien Buyers Club, or whatever b.s. name they can come up with to fool those that have attended in the past into thinking this is a different company.  They'll have their certainly likable, but cliched "used car salesman" push his woo-h*o tactics about how much money you're going to make buying due-to-expire tax liens, and guess what?  You will own the house/property free and clear.

I'm sure some folks smarter than you and I (who actually have the connections and the know-how can certainly make a good living doing this), but those are few and far between, as the competition is fierce, and they are actually located near the properties, do their due diligence, and do what they know they need to do, while folks like you and I are scratching our heads and butts.  MOST of these properties are pieces of crap abandoned lots and the original owners walked away from both the property and the lien because they could.  They can't actually sell the land, thus the tax lien will never be collected anyway.  But you, like a fool, take these folk's word on it and buy it without knowing that you will never get the ROI that you're expecting, plus, now YOU are stuck with the tax lien.  Congrats!  :/

Oh, and like a used car salesman, the price for these classes are usually around $6k, "but for today only" you can attend this seminar for the low low price of just under $2k.  What a bargain!

So do the math: 100 dinks x approx 2k, and these jackholes have just made close to $200k a night (if everyone in attendance buys the snake oil they're selling).  If only half buy it, they've still made close to $100k in a night.  You will never see that money again, nor will you reap the rewards of actually attending the classes.  Trump University much?

Please do yourself a favor and forego this program, or if you DO go, leave the credit cards and checkbooks at home.  They're good.  I'll give them that.  They're VERY good at convincing you this is the ticket.  Even I almost bought it.  Thank GOD I left my disposable income sources at home because when I was finally able to do my research, I found many similar reviews and stories.  These guys are banking a small fortune, and before the heat gets turned up, they shut down for a while, change their name, find a new HGTV personality to become their "face" and start allllllll over.
