My husband bought a diamond ring last year for $1,500.00. I took it to 2 different stores this past month to get a new setting and was told that the diamond was worthless due to a hugh carbon flaw that is right in the middle of the stone. They saw him coming a mile away knowing he wasn't experenced with gems. He believed everything the sales person said about this diamond thinking they were honest. "Guarantee to appraise for double" didn't happen in my case. The bast price I got was $400.00. I will never shop this store again. I forgot the best part. They never told you that the "Guarantee to appraise for double" doesn't included their store. They will never buy back their own product because they know it isn't worth the paper the guarantee is written on. They will only give you a credit if you buy something of higher value however, they don't give you the entire amount you paid. Save yourself the trouble and heart ache and don't shop there. This was an engagement ring.
