I am in complete agreement with the individuals from Utah and Texas.  Summit Lending Corp. cheated me out of $1200 by guaranteeing me that they could get my mortgage modified to a much lower interest rate in order to significantly lower my payments.  They assured me in writing that if the loan modification could not be achieved, I would receive a refund.  They also told me not to worry about making my house payments during the time they were working on the loan remodification because it would be tacked on at the end.

I contacted them numerous times during the three months they were supposedly working on this so-called loan remodification and each time was told everything was just fine, I didn't have a thing to worry about, and not to worry about paying my mortgage payments.

After three months I became frightened I was going to lose my home, and I called Summit and they told me there was nothing they could do to help me because my mortgage coompany would not work with them.  I called my mortgage company and they said they had never heard of Summit Lending Corp., they had never been contacted, and my house was up for foreclosure.  Furthermore, my mortgage company told me they never worked with companies such as Summit Lending Corp. and that they only worked with HUD for loan remodifications.  Beneficial is a huge corporation, so Summit Lending no doubt knew that they could not succeed in getting a loan remodification even before they took my money.  I had to wipe out my meager savings to save my home.

When I tried to get my guaranteed refund, I was routed from person to person and various offices and eventually could not get through at all.  Each person I talked with said it was some other person's or office's responsibilty, and eventually I could not get through to them at all.

I contacted the BBB, the attorney general and the FBI.  The FBI said the case was entirely too small, the attorney general of Florida said they had other complaints and were looking into it, but they would not be able to help me get my money back.  The Better Business Bureau had had complaints, but Summit Lending Corp. was not registered with them, even though when I talked to Summit Lending they had directed me to a professional looking scam website that said they had an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

I am very bitter about this whole experience and hope these scam artists rot in H*ll for cheating hard-working innocent people out of their meager incomes and savings.
