Several weeks ago, I bought a VX570 payment processing terminal from Summit Merchant Solutions. A saleswoman who came by yesterday says that its not as secure as the equipment her company sells. She says my payment information is wide open to computer hackers who can steal the data, and now Im really worried. I dont know what to believe.

Prove it.

I saw that CPP has a rebuttal here. But they failed to validate what they said. Honestly no one offered any proof of whose machine was more secure or how they made is secure.

Furthermore, saying someone else's machine is not as secure is a sales tactic, and I would admit to being tempted to use it myself. But before I did, I would check into how much more secure it is and why.

Personally, I would like to know these things. After all, theoretically, none of them are 100% secure.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Your data is safe, our equipment is secure

Unfortunately, this is just another example of misinformation that gets spread by Summits competition. All of our terminals are compliant with the highest security standards specified by the Payment Card Industry (PCI). In fact, every piece of equipment we offer is in full compliance with the latest PCI standards. You wont find a terminal with better, more secure data encryption than the one you have, regardless of what you are told by any of our competitors.

Please get in touch with Summit customer support if you have questions. But if youre more comfortable doing your own investigation, go to the manufacturers website and read more. Just do a Google search for Verifone website and youll find out all you need to know. That should put your mind at ease!
