I WAS VISITING MY MOTHER FOR MOTHERS DAY WEEK ...FROM POMPANO BEACH AND WE WENT TO DINNER AT CARABBAS WHEN WE LEFT I REALIZED MY GAS TANK WAS ON EMPTY. SO THE FIRST GAS STATION WE CAME TO WAS SUNCOAST ENERG'Y'S AT 5928 BUTLER NATIONAL DRIVE ORLANDO FL NEAR THE AIRPORT. AND I STARTED PUMPING GAS AND REALIZED IT WAS TAKING A LONG TIME WHEN I LOOKED UP IT WAS GOING PAST $80 AND THE FIRST THING DID WAS LOOK TO SEE IF GAS WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE PUMP AND WHEN I REALIZED IT WAS NOT AT THAT TIME I LOOKED AT THE SMALL PRINTED PRICE ON THE PUMP WHICH SAID 5.95 PER GALLON FOR THE REGULAR 87. I WAS IN SHOCK! IT COST ME $93 TO FILL MY CAR UP WHEN IT USUALLY COSTS UNDER $60. I WENT INTO THE STATION AND ASKED THE CASHIER WHY THE GAS WAS $5.95 AND HE SAID THE STATION ACROSS THE STREET CHARGES THE SAME AND I SAID THEY WERE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF AND HE JUST SAID THATS OUR PRICE. I HAVE CONTACTED THE ATTY GENERALS OFFICE AND I WILL DO MORE! THEY HAD NO VISIBLE SIGNAGE OUTSIDE SHOWING THEIR PRICES...DO NOT GET GAS THERE WHEN LESS THAN 1/2 MILE AWAY THE GAS IS IN THE LOW $3 RANGE...BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER IN MY LIFETIME. ANGRY CONSUMER WHO CAN NOT AFFORD THIS!!!!!

Can't See, Right???

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 18, 2015

Whether or not they have a sign on the street, every pump has the price per gallon in easy to see digits.  All you need to do is move your eyes or head about an eigth of an inch to SEE the price!

All these reports about this gas station are quite hilarious!!!  All the whiners need to do is LOOK at the pump, SEE the price and MOVE ON if its too high for them!

The owners have the populace figured out pretty good, don't they?  So many don't have the slightest of COMMON SENSE to look at the pump BEFORE buying the gas!

Funny, funny, funny!!!

Did you look at the sign?

In general, it looks like a rip off due to the price; however, it is really not. I do not see that there is a law limiting gas price for gas stations (price gouging is not the same to this issue). If they display the price properly, the burden is on you who is the buyer. The price can be varied due to location and marketing strategy of the gas station.

You are wasting the AG of the state. You just assumed that every gas station will sell gas at the same or similar price and did not look at the price before filling it. Because of your mistake, you were angry and needed to blame someone but yourself. Of course, it is the gas station. So it is not a rip off but a blaming game.
