Sundays Blue Box Tanning Resort is the worst experience I have ever had. My husband wanted to do something special for me since it was my first time celebrating Mother's Day. Unfortunately, he thought getting me a tanning membership would be a nice relaxing way to treat me for being a new mother.

The very first thing I noticed walking in was that the girls were not very friendly... At all! The woman that signed me up was very pushy and she talked so fast that I could not understand half of what she said. I told her I only wanted to do a month by month or at least 3 months since my husband is in the military and we do not get paid that much... its expensive to tan, but she told me that I could only do a minimum of 6 months. I agreed to 6 months since that was the only option and my husband insisted that he wanted to do this for me.

When all the signing was done she forced me to buy not 1 but 2 lotions and after I was tanning there for only a month whoever would sign me in that day would ask me if I wanted to buy more lotion! They were extremely pushy and their lotion is expensive. Because the first lotions I bought there was not a good kind of lotion  (which the lady recommended) that did not even help me get tan at all (I asked another lady why and she said it was just mostly for moisterizing!!! not to help me get tan! how deceiving!!!) I went to Wal mart to buy my own. Well of course the next time I went in the lady that sold me the first 2 lotions noticed my wal mart lotion and I didn't buy their lotion and started talking bad about the lotion I bought and I should have bought one of theirs. Then, she (and the other girls that work there) was getting so annoying that I finally gave in and bought another lotion! (I guess I am too friendly to tell them to shut it) But eventually going in after months of them trying to sell me even more lotion, I did finally tell them to stop asking me because I had plenty of lotion.

A couple of weeks into my tanning experience I asked one of the girls if I could clean my own bed (I used to go to Global tan and other tanning salons and they would let you clean them and sometimes had the cleaning stuff available for you to just pick up and do it yourself because no matter how well workers clean the tanning beds, it is still sketchy and a bit gross... it eases my mind when I do it myself, especially since I did see some nasty stuff on their beds before) The girl that I asked was so rude about it and everytime I went in after that every girl there had a problem with it and made me feel bad that I wanted to reclean them. They told me they have people working there just to clean everything. I thought to myself 'I don't care!!!' Anyway, this is how nice I am (too nice)... I felt so bad that they were so ticked off at me and offended or something that I felt like I couldn't clean my own bed... so I told them it's ok and I will stop asking. I heard one girl even talking to another worker that I wanted to clean my own bed and she sounded annoyed by it.

Finally, the worst of it all. Hear is the Rip Off, rude, uncaring and no cusomer satisfaction part of it all... I actually could not wait until my supposed 6 month contract was up in November because I did not want to be spending that kind of money and putting up with the rudeness. Unfortunately, just yesterday I got a call from them. Last year of May 2016 I signed up with them for 6 months so my contract ended in November 2016. I receieved a voicemail from them April 10, 2017 calling about my account! I was really confused since I told the lady I only wanted 6 months. I said to my husband, "they better not have been taking money out of my account!!!" I checked my account that night and they have been taking out of my account every month since November.. Still!!! I called them today to see what was going on! They took $262.00 out of my account!!! And now I have nothing!!! So they called me because I did not have enough money in my account.

I talked to a girl there and asked her to put the supervisor or manager on the phone. I told her that I signed a 6 month contract and asked why they are still taking out of my account. She said it was a 6 month minimum contract. How deceiving! Especially for new customers (never been there before in my life... never even heard of it until signing up) we don't know what that means and that they will still be taking money out of our accounts even after an agreement of 6 months! I have been to so many tanning salons and not one salon does this. I told her I want my money back that they stole from me. She said they cannot refund me the money. She said I signed a 6 month minimum contract and also signed that I don't get a refund back. I told her yes, I understand that within the 6 months that I agreed to that if I didn't go for a month or two or even all six months that I wouldn't get my money back... I completely understand that!!! But I told her I signed up for a six month and six month only! I didn't want to go past that!

She said I had to come in at the end of my contract and cancel or they will keep taking money out. I said the girl who signed me up never told me all this information. She kept saying the same thing that I signed the 6 month minimum contract and that I don't get a refund back. I started yelling at her of course (not going to be miss nice girl getting pushed around by them anymore). She said they can look at the security cameras to see what the lady told me when I signed up. I said ok and asked what they would do if the girl never told me to make sure I come back in to cancel or they will keep taking money out of my account. She would not give me an answer. I asked would you give me my money back. She again would just respond to I signed a 6 month minimum contract so there is nothing she can do. Are you serious!?! I told her that is stealing!!!!! I have a baby to take care of and feed! That is food out of my baby's mouth!!! I said do you have kids?!? I said that I will not stop until I get my money back. This is wrong! I had no idea that they would do something like this and not even refund the money! I even told her to look at how many times I came in... 0 times and I told her that if I knew about this stupid policy I would have either come in to tan or cancelled at the end of my contract (which no member should have to bother doing that... a six month contract should be a six month contract!!!! that simple!) I told her why would I just give you guys $262.00!?!?! She did not care at all. She again and again kept saying I signed the 6 month minimum contract.

I asked her if they had a one year contract... she would not answer me... Seriously. I asked her that because I wanted to know if they did because if they do have one then I would  have told her if I wanted to do longer than six months which would obviously be a year since you cannot sign up for less than six months I would have signed the 1 year contract. But she would not tell me. I will personally go there and ask and if they have a 1 year contract then they will be in more trouble. So now I have hardly anything in my bank account and they stole $262.00 from me and will not give it back. I hope the office manager does contact me. She said she will contact that manager and he/she should be calling me today but from the sounds of it, they refuse to give me my money back. The other problem I have is that it is hard to find their corporation or whoever owns Sundays. I am trying to get a hold of someone higher than the store manager, at least that's what she called herself.

I don't even trust that she was the store manager because after all that fighting I called back to get her name. Apparently she answered the phone first and I asked for the store managers name. She acted like just a regular worker and said I cannot disclose that information and I asked to talk to the manager then. She put me on hold and another girl came on the phone. I thought this was the manager so when she answered I told her that I didn't catch her name the last time. The girl replied that she was not the store manager and that she was the first one I talked to when I called the second time!!!! What!?!! Something has to be done about these girls and this salon. To treat a customer like this and lie and steal and be rude and uncaring is awful! They did not just steal $52.00 (a months worth) they stole $262.00 and wiped out my bank account!!! And to not care about anyone like that!? I have a one year old to feed. I cannot believe they would do this. Something has to be done. They cannot keep getting away with this. Some people probably don't care if they lose that much money but to me, any little bit of my hard earned money is important to me. Please help me stop this.. Help me stop them from doing this. We need to start standing up to awful people and awful companies that hurt and steal from people. Let's end this so they don't do this to others.
