Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

On July 6th I purchased a scooter from, either red or blue. After ordering online I received a phonecall explaining to me that the particular scooter I ordered is not available for my state, so I chose another scooter similar to my first order in red or blue. I had it shipped to my mechanics shop since it had to be assembled. It arrived while I was at work, my mechanic called and told me the scooter arrived they assembled it and it drives nice, however he wondered why I ordered screaming pink! Well I didn't. From that day on I have spend every day an average of 1 hour on hold with customer service. First they told me that I should have it repainted, but its more than the scooter. So I told them to just give me a discount, never heard back. To top it all off I received the title yesterday and its not a 2009 but a 2008.

They told me that its a 2009 but its manufactured in 2008, garbage!! I know better, its a 2008. I contacted my credit card company and gave them one last chance to make it right, now they are offering me either black or silver, but he can't say for sure if its a 2009 or 2008. I even offered them to give me a $ 200.00 discount and I will walk away, again, please hold, than we will call you back. They told me for a week straight that they would call me back and I never heard back from them.

What a nightmare. Not only did I get the wrong color, I also got the wrong year. NEVER EVER EVER buy from them. Their customer service is a nightmare seriously.

I am so ready to throw the towel in, the scooter was a gift to our child. I am extremly upset about the whole situation and feel terrible helpless. If I don't hear from them today I will just have to end up disputing it with my credit card, because obviously nobody else seems to care.

So my advice.. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Sorry to break it to you, but the new vehicle year begins in September of the *previous* year, meaning the actual vehicle itself was manufactured on the assembly line in the previous year. How do you think they meet the demand for the upcoming year otherwise? Do you think in January of 2009 they suddenly stop making 2008 models and retool the line suddenly for the 2009s on January 1rst? If you want to feel really sheepish, try running the VIN, which contains all the info about the vehicle in a numerical format, including what plant it was manufactured at, what the actual manufacturing year is and even what number out of how many vehicles it is off the assembly line.

My VIN told me that my scooter was number 1701 (out of however many were produced) off of an assembly line in the plant in Ontario and it's manufacture was completed in 1985, although it's registered in the new model year for sale as a 1986, and there is NOTHING illegal or "rip off" about that. That's how the vehicle industry works.

As for your customer service problem itself, IF everything is as you say, the unresponsiveness is not a good thing, I agree. If you're insecure enough that pink is an issue for you, you can always repaint the body panels yourself. It's not rocket science and you can learn a LOT about your ride by doing this too. Krylon comes in red, blue, yellow... take your pick.

Otherwise, you can try to request a panel swap, in which you get your mechanic to remove the panels, the company sends a replacement set and the shop sends the unwanted color back to the original vendor. Mechanic then puts your new panels on, and that's the end of your issue.

A final suggestion would be to see if you can get an aftermarket replacement panel set from another vendor. I replaced my entire panel set (and there were a LOT of panels on my scooter, about 12 or so in all) for about $400 U.S., which was a GREAT bargain, since the just two of the panels I needed to replace would have come to over that. Depending on the make of the scooter, that is, if it's a popular enough model, there are many, many places you can order from, some will even offer custom paint.
