Suntrust has ripped me off for the last time! I make sure that I watch my account & balance it, along with the Suntrust Banking Application for my phone. I was aware that I would receive one overdraft fee, due to a check. They have decided to rearrange my account & have charged me "FIVE" overdraft fees & was only suppose to charge me "ONE"!

This is something that was not suppose to happen! Suntrust feels that they can just get "MORE MONEY" from people, just because they feel they can & want to blame it on their system?! If that is the case then you need a "NEW SYSTEM"! Credit my account & then close it!! I will never bank with them again!!!!!!!

I know you won't agree with me at all, or the other response, but honestly the best thing to do is just watch your account better.  Chances are you had some items pending, assumed they had already come out, wrote a check and assumed that was the only thing you'd get dinged for, but then to first few items that were still pending hit your account all at the same time, thus racking up numerous charges.

They aren't "stealing money" from you, they aren't "scamming" you.  Maybe if you tried simply talking to them, they may reverse some of those charges unless you make a habit of over drawing your account.  In which case it may still be good to talk to them because you obviously need help keeping track of your finances.

I genuinely hope things work out for you.  But not everyone is out to get you.

By not overspending the available balance in your account, The mobile banking, online banking & ATM banking should be used to check what has posted and ensure it posted for the right amount. The only thing you need to look at to determine if you have enough money to buy what you want is your account register. The only difference in bank processing is if the bank posts the deposits/credits first and then the debits or if they post the debits first and then the deposits/credits. But if you check your statement you will see the bank posts the same way everyday, usually largest debit to smallest debit. They didn't change the procedure to create more OD fees. You just decided the money was more important to the bank than it was to you.

And NO I don't work for this bank.

Every bank does the same thing that you are complaining. The way bank deal with debit/credit is that they will credit the highest amount first and then smaller later. Every bank does the same, so you will have to stop using all banks if you think only this bank does it to you...
