Husband arrested for domestic violence which did not occur.  Has been separated from me by restraining order; I did not want him arrested, have applied for modification of orders seven times and have been denied.  I am disabled due to a fractured back.  Victim assistance offered help up to $2000/month until I said I would not leave my husband nor testify against him, at which point I was told no assistance was available unless I agreed to do this.

This is undue influence by public officials to force me to falsely testify against my husband, basically an attempt to starve me into cooperating.  I have fallen and broken ribs, suffered a mini-stroke and suffered burns that could not be cared for because I'm uninsured and my husband, a doctor, is not allowed to care for me.  Victim assistance has shown no interest in my welfare since I refused to cooperate in having my husband, who did not threaten or hurt me, jailed.

What??

AUTHOR: Stacey - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Your husband was arrested because the Officers deemed him to be the Agressor in the DV call.  Most courts (just from experience) will issue a Magistrates Order against the Perpetrator of DV if there is sufficient evidence of DV.

The Victim of DV is then advised of options such as a Protective Order, VOCA compensation etc etc. Then said victim has the option to either accept or decline such offers.  Therefore I find your report crap!  I have experience in the field and find that most people who are Victims of Domestic Violence chose to file for a FV Order of Protection.  You have no control over what the law or courts state! Your medical condition has no merit period.  You choose to deny any abuse but the system says NO

There is evidence he abused you - he is in jail!!! Stop!  Like I said I worked in the field for years and have heard it all!

If you don't think you are a Victim of Domestic Violence fine - the State says otherwise.  You are not entitled to benefits because you refuse to cooperate with the guidelines of the requirements to obtain compensation. Therefore since you choose to enable his behavior you suffer the consequences.

Victim Assistance to a Non - Victim?

Let me get this straight, you are requesting victim assistance when you in your own words write that you are not a victim?

There is no undue influence by any public officials. According to you there was no crime so you are not a victim of a crime.

I'm at a loss as to why you would even think that as a non - victim (Your own words) you are entitled to victim assistance.
